Default Help With Backlight Kit for DX6i

Hi all,

I got a backlighting kit and done it as per the instructions on this video:

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifoUHLB1GHM[/ame]

The backlight works fine the only problem is I cannot see the text on the screen now, it is there just so very dim. I have to slant the screen way back to see the text.

What have I done wrong? Hope I haven't ruined it, I have only just got it!

Thanks for any help,
Philip.

Fixed now.

On the newer DSMX tx's the polorizing film is bonded into the silver backing. I had to re-fit the silver backing for it to work (good job I kept it!)

Thanks,
Philip.

Can you explain this further? I may like to install a back light in my dx6i at some point. What silver backing are you referring to and what light kit did you use?

Mike.

Default Backlight kit

@ mikefamig,

He's referring to the LCD screen...DO NOT remove the silver backing
from the LCD screen. Now for the backlight kit it self...DO NOT cut the
black and red wires from the plug and connect to your radio power,
WATCH the instruction on YOUTUBE before attempting to install the
backlight kit, trust me, I'm talking from experience. I suggest getting
the white light kit.

Yes on the LCD screen keep the silver backing. The light goes right through it anyway. I just got a kit from ebay. It is quite easy to do if your happy soldering - only two wires.
