Questions also come in threes What is the wire that goes snaking to the tail, a static discharge wire? Where did you get those nice tail blades? And why are Align stickers on the I2 tail hub?

The wire is a static wire yes. Most likely not needed with today's radio technology but It was an easy add.

The blades are Eco power from Amain.com. They fly great for what I put them through.

The align decals were added out of boredom. I love those i2 grips!

PS. I didn't put the KDE tail back on. The new one fit too tight on the tail case stand off and I didn't bother modifying it.

I'm running a metal align single point yaw bellcrank. Works just fine.

It is a Tracx head (compass) with Delrin links designed for the align 500. I am running the lime green KBDD dampers .

Love that rotor head assembly.

Where do you buy your Delrin links - I've got two of the 6HV heads to use on my 550's - but have held off using because I cannt find a cheap/plentiful supply of em......

Pretty sure the 500 and 6HV ones are same size (delrin).....

Prostar hobbies / Nankin under the section (helicopters/tracx/600 size). Or hobby hangar in NZ. That's where I found the lime green dampers.

Good luck!

Which main shaft are you using - the short dfc one or the longer efl one?

Ugh - that's my 3 questions........

500 FL is printed on my mainshaft. My rotor head sits alittle higher than "most" FBL 500's but the flight characteristics are perfect for how I like it.

Reason I asked - bought couple of the KDE
AT500P Flybarless Main Rotor Heads -

its suppose to go on the dfc shaft - but I will most likely stick it on the longer one - to tame it down a little bit...

There are three shafts for the 500 ESP:

H50086 FB shaft: 153.3mm
H50133 FBL shaft: 148.8mm
H50185 DFC shaft: about 12x.x mm

If the head is FBL and not DFC you need the FB or FBL shaft, the DFC shaft is too short.

By the way the KDE rotor housing from the link looks identical as the Tarot FBL one.

Funny you should mention that - I've got three of the tarot ones - dont know why it didnt click..

But yes the last gen on the 500 tarot heads - the headblock looks almost identical to the kde one - except for the black power coat - and the lettering on the inlay....
