General causes of tail not holding on hard collective?
Hey folks still tweaking out my setup, and noticed that the tail just doesn't seem to hold when I punch the collective. Problem was made much better by tightening the belt but its still there. What generally causes this? I have played with gyro and got it the the point of not wagging in hard collective but the tail still moves to the right, nose left. Thoughts to share??

Are you flying in idle-up or normal? It will kick in normal.

Common issues:
1) Motor bogging (loosing head speed). Reduce collective, etc 2) Not enough gyro gain/crappy gyro 3) Crappy tail servo 4) Tail control is not smooth or binding 5) Head speed too low |

One friend of mine chased this type of behaviour in a Trex 450.
Turned out to be bad tail blade bearings. The bearings felt fine on the bench, but failed under load.

thanks guys, I think in the sounds of the hit show Family Feud...The Number one Answer is.....Headspeed bogging from pitch...
I remember the last time I was at the field I bumped up the swash mix on collective from 50 to 55 to give a little more pitch, will turn it back to 50 and check it out when it stops raining. Thanks guys

What headspeed are you running? Get it up to 2900 and see if it kicks. It shouldn't at that speed. I've run 15C 2100 TP Prolites (very old) and get no kicks. If you are running a low headspeed to begin with then bogging might be your problem.
