Default MSRX aerial

The tiny aerial soldered to the circuit board has come off on my MSRX
I gave her a test flight after it came off indoors in my lounge and did not notice it behaving any different.
Will this cause me any issues maybe if in a larger, or outdoor area.
The solder spot on the board is tiny and I dont fancy my chances on repairing it as my soldering looks like bird poo.
Luckily I do have another board so I can fit it on if the first one is screwed however would prefer to use the old one if I can as I have nearly made up a complete second heli
using a DX6i if that makes any difference.
Trying to get skilled enough controlling this thing to move on to a Nano or MCPX and starting to make some slow progress after making MMmod.

Tonnes of useful advice picked up on here however this is my first post.

any comments much apreciated.

With the antenna wire off, you will only be able to fly maybe 20 to 30' away before loosing connection/control.

If you are uncomfortable soldering the wire back on you could check with your LHS or send it to Kevin who will fix it for $25. You can find him at http://www.megasmicros.com/product_p/repair-all.htm

Just keep flying and it will come. Happy flying

Or you can now start experimental/practice soldering on an old or fried printed circuit board from another electronic device laying around!

+1

The mSRX was my first heli and the antenna coming off was the thing that convinced me to go out and buy my first soldering iron. I had not used one since I moved out from my parents place many years earlier.

Now I've gotten decent enough to have put together a few brushless micros; a nano CPX, and 2 mCPX's after learning on my mSRX. If you're at all interested in this hobby, a cheap and low power soldering iron is one of the best tools you can buy as it opens up a lot of easy repair possibilities.

As to your antenna, I can guarantee -- so long as not shorted -- the solder really doesn't need to look pretty to restore functionality. In the beginner advice forum there is a sticky with a great soldering tutorial even.

It is good to know it works without... for some reason I never even tried.
