440h motors are in stock on horizon hobbies website...
If anyone needs one or wants a spare I would hurry up and get one while they have them.

Nice catch. In for one, along with a few more parts to complete my crash-kit.

http://www.zeejayhobbies.com.au/heli...prod_4182.html This is the upgrade motor for the blade 400, is it the exact same as the new 450X motor? Or did the 450X motor have some high KV rating or something? Cause its very strange our Aussie stores have had these in stock for ages and they usually charge 30%+ more than USA and these are cheap as chips. THe part number EFLM1360H seems to be the same though. Anyone let me know if the 450X motor was different than the b400 upgrade? |

Why would you want to buy the 440 motor?

yeah it would be $28 US price, its the same motor. It's been out for ages I guess as the upgrade motor for the 400-450. Maybe they ran out of stock with the 450X coming out so pushed up the price. I really like this motor doesn't get too hot and can almost fly back to back 7 batteries with only 3 min breaks in between.

Cause if you own a 450x and have the stock motor (440h) your prob gonna need one with in the next few months if you fly alot. They been having bearing issues. Im waiting on a warranty one and one that I ordered a while ago. So they should be here soon now that they are back in stock. Some people might want a spare for when theres goes bad. Or if they damaged theres in a crash and dont want to get a aftermarket one.

I'm grabbing one as I like the power it provides when I fly, it doesn't kill batteries like a Scorpion 2221-6/8 (or require anywhere near as much lubing, or cost as much, or need an upgraded ESC), and seems to be a stock part that doesn't *require* an upgrade. When I get to the point I need more, I'll deal with looking at upgrades then.
Definitely going to be checking the bearings when I get it though, as I'm curious how many of the bearing failures might have been caused by a loose fit from the factory. Doesn't hurt that the one that came with my X is a high failure risk, having been run through a full pack with a battery jammed up against one side. If that isn't going to kill the bearings sooner than later, I don't know what will. Doesn't help that I have over 80 flights on it now, and haven't lubricated anything on it. No problems so far, at least... though it does get noticeably warm after a flight. Need to get a good temp reading sometime, but I'd guess it's well below 140F (as I can keep my fingers on it, if not exactly comfortably).

Maybe that helped! lol Yeah my scorpion 6 needs to be lubed every 10 flights, and its putting my hyperions 35c packs thru a work out each flight.

I gotta say after putting Gensace 2200 3S 30/60C pack's in my B450X I don't feel the need for a upgraded motor, this thing is fast, powerful and punchy. my old packs are ok but they don't feel like the new Gensace ones.

gens ace 25c lipos are best value for money. I have tested them and they are equivalent to 40c lipos from other Lipo manufacturers
