REALLY warm packs!
Just got the 300 back in the air tonight after it has been sitting, getting worked on, sitting some more, testing some stuff and waiting for parts. In the end the only real change I made was switching out the Align 35A ESC, which was acting up after 2 crashes, cutting out and not giving me much confidence. Borrowed a buddies 40A Eflite ESC and along with the Scorpion 2213-14 motor the first 3 packs I flew are noticeably warmer then before. The motor always runs a little warm so I'm thinking the E-flite ESC is allowing the motor to pull a few more amps from the battery. Any of you guys that are running higher amps ESC's and bigger motors have the same experience.

I'm using the talon 35 with a Lynx motor and my Lipo, motor and Esc all come down fairly cool, in fact I think the Lipo came down warmer with the stock motor and esc.

I've noticed that some of the smaller Eflight ESCs (25A, 35A, etc.) appear to run really high timing advances or something, because the motors often come down significantly hotter than they would for their YEP/YGE and Castle counterparts. This may be the case for the Eflight 40A ESC, as well. If your packs are coming down hotter than usual, it means you're pulling more amps than usual. It may simply be a result of the fixed timing advance on the Eflight ESCs. As long as you're getting acceptable flight times, your motor isn't coming down too hot to touch, and your batteries aren't puffing, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
