Was having trouble with a pnp kit I just purchased as a training tool, damn thing wouldnt even hover beyond a minute or so.. A set of microdeans on the battery lead and direct soldering the power leads to the esc solved all that. Havent got the confidence yet to direct solder the throttle lead yet, but will be trying that in a week or so. Hopefully, I wont be calling on you afterward, Nccraig .

The HP03S doesnt do too bad for a training aid for basic flying.......gonna be getting an HP05 soon with a bigger tail.....This noob loves tinkering as much as he loves learning to fly this thing.....

I just ordered 20 micro deans at the shop.

This better be worth it

I ran JST connectors on my XP-7A/HP05s, switched to micro-deans when I upgraded to XP12a/HP06v2. Thought I would get shorter flight times because this is a higher power configuration, NOPE! 5mins full power, ending voltage 3.75 give or take 0.03v. Exactly the same as when I had the JSTs on the lower power config.
It was a lot of work converting all the batteries and changing my parallel charge board, but yeah, totally worth it!!

Lower resistance in the Dean's equals less voltage drop and more power reaching the heli. Plus, your XP12A is probably working more efficiently than the XP7as well.
