Default Using MCPX settings on DX6i for 130X

I am fairly new with CP and finally got my settings where I can handle my MCPX. Is it OK to use these settings for the 130X or should I use the manual's settings?

I'd highly recommend using the manual as a starting point.

For some reason the manual settings recommend you use a flat 10% throttle curve in throttle hold mode, if you decide to use your mcpx settings I would at least make sure you use the 10%, although I'm not sure why..lol

Does that 10% have anything to do with the mini-auto ability?

That's what I did with mine and added the 10% throttle hold like in the manual. Flies great for me anyway.

the 10% is a safety feature. When you have throttle up while throttle hold is on, when you take off throttle hold it forces you to move throttle to zero then back up for the blades to spool.

With TH at zero, the blades will spool immediately.

Huh? I don't even plan to program so called normal mode. The heli has a soft start, blades won't spool up immediately.

Set TH zero and be done with it

Set TH zero and be done with it It should fly fine with mcpx settings.

im not sure youre picking up what im putting down. having TH set at 10 forces the user to lower throttle to 0, before the blades will even move.

No you are not picking up what I am putting down.

I have no intention to have zero throttle on any of throttle curves in tx. All throttle curves I am going to program are going to be more than zero (probably 80-100%) flat. All my helis are setup this way, I don't fly in "normal" mode at all, all my collective stick does is changing the pitch of the blades.

So unless 130x detects 10% as zero throttle signal (could be), ESC will not arm, hence, TH needs to be at zero to allow ESC to arm. Spool up is handled by ESC's soft start, not by moving the stick up.

Throttle stick at zero is not a safety feature on modern electrics as we use flat throttle curves pretty much everywhere, throttle hold (and you can also setup throttle cut as a back up) is.

Bryant the Bear is correct on what he states. Throttle Hold must be set at 10% otherwise the heli will spoolup upon initialization no matter what your curve is. Without 10% Throttle Hold you will have no "off " setting. This is the proper setting for all electric heli's and is what I use on all my heli's.
Remember Throttle hold is different from Throttle curve. Set your curve any way you see fit.

I think he is saying he doesnt care if it will spool up, the only time he cares that his blades arent moving is when he has throttle hold activated.

since you fly in idle up only, you are bypassing the safety feature blade wants to incorporate. Many people fly in normal mode. And if they mistakenly have throttle up without TH on when they plug in the battery, blade wants to keep the blades from spinning.

the reason they suggest 10% in stead of 0% is dx6i specific. if you set throttle hold to 0% in your dx6i, then go to monitor with TH on, you will see that throttle is actually -10%. When you set TH to 10% and go to monitor with TH on, you will see that throttle is actually at 0%. They want to ensure for people who fly in normal mode, that TH and 0 collective are the same throttle value.

Page 6 of the manual says TH at 10%. Not trying to start any kind of argument, I've seen these discussions before on most of the heli threads. What anybody does with there personal bird is up to them, but please be sure and give the correct info to the new guys. Finless Bob also talks about this in great detail on his videos.
