i have turned the cp2 output ch4 to zero and when i turn the gain to zero on my transmitter
the drifting stops but then im in rate mode.

seems like this problem comes and goes could it be because im setting the heli up in my bedroom ?

If your routing your gyro through the CPII on the 4th channel, you'll need to input the gyro gain through the CPII programmer while doing quick setup.
The 4th lead out does not get used...so disconnect it from your Rx. this is used for a 4 servo cyclic setup.
When the gyro gain is operated through the CPII your Tx will no longer have any effect on it.

side note: do not attempt any adjustments indoors as the CPII will react oddly if not outside in the open.

you need to plug the gyro gain lead from your gyro into the CPII avionics computer into the 4th slot the rudder servo will stay connected to the gyro, and the Rx lead from the gyro needs to be installed into the rudder channel of your Rx

* You only run the Gyro HH to the CPII avionics computer when you need to free up a channel on your transmitter, so you can remotely turn CPII on/off.

i thought you said for 3dmode the gyro had to be connected to te cp2
disconnted the gyro from the cp2 no more tail drift.

all looks ok

but when i plug the gyro gain into the cpll how do i turn the gyro on and off ? or will i just be left with rate mode and heading hold from the irc remote ?

3D mode is for airplane , the CPII when setup for a helicopter only allows it fly inverted with stabilization , it doesn't understand 3D for a helicopter.
it tells the sensors that they are functioning upside down on a helicopter.

The gyro gain setting is fixed through the programmer to what ever % you give it.

So say you tell the CPII to give 32% to the gyro, no matter if the unit is on or off the gyro will still see 32%. there is no way I know of to switch it between rate and HH during flight.

Hmmm - I remember when we unplug the gyro gain, the gyro will stay in locked mode... It does for mine GP750, Logictech, GY401...did I do something different?

tks
