Northern Cali FPV flier head count
I'm in Oroville 60 miles north of Sac.. Who wants to get together someday and exchange lies and show off our FPV toys? What Scott posted sounded really cool but way too far! Who might show up?

I'm in the San Francisco bay area and fly FPV helis in empty fields around here. No AMA membership yet. I heard many clubs frown at FPV or is that just a rumor?

The weather up here has been cold and foggy and down right ugly for flying. If we can gather up a few guys we could put something together in the spring. I would like to see a show of hands if possible to possibly get something going and maybe set a date.Or if somebody had a better more centralized location that would be good also..

Hi, I'm also in the bay tinkering around with FPV and flying when I can. I've been lurking the forums for a long time and would like to show off and check out some other FPV vehicles.

So for those who think they may attend, what is better a Saturday or Sunday ? I leaning to possibly June 19th? Or sometime in July ... Your thoughts?

Either day works for me as well.
As an aside, does anyone know of any good stores in the bay area for FPV equipment? I am using hobby wireless' 900mhz 500mw transmitter / camera combo and I'd like to re do the wiring harness but can't seem to locate the proper white connectors. Does anyone know of a place to pick those up in the bay area? |

If you're experienced at traditional and FPV flying, you should be able to organize a special demonstration for the key decision-makers. Fly without video first. Show that you aren't a dangerous newbie; you can hover nose-in all day if required, you can do a simple backflip while doing side-in forward flight, etc., without hot-dogging it. Then come back to turn on your camera and video transmitter. Having a large enough screen for your audience to check out live as you fly is a plus. Sit at a regular flight station and don't go farther than any of the planes would go... some of their reservations are going to be about flying out of sight range. While you're at it, record the video for their club website, and briefly hover or land nose-to-the-crowd at a safe distance in that video.

I thought so, and thanks for the confirmation. I was trying to be clear -- "see if they let you visit." I don't know the guy, but having worked from home before, it's kinda nice to meet people now and then, especially customers. Maybe the visit would be best at the aforementioned lake.
