Default Making my own servo links?

What do I need to make my own links? I'm guessing some correct diameter wire and a thread tool but I have had no luck searching for them. What else may I need and where can I find all of it? Its for my Trex 450 SEV2 running DFC head.

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper just to order the links ready to go? I assume you are talking about the links from the servo to the swash, which are very simple and cheap parts. I suppose you could use pre threaded Du Bro 256 rod and cut them to length, but then you will still need to order the ball links themselves. Either way, you will need to source the pieces and mail order them if you don't have a LHS to sell them to you, so why not just order the links you need and be done with it?

The stock links are not long enough. I tried several packs of stock servo links from different helos. To have 0 pitch at mid stick I have the threads backed out very far in the links and the servo horns are about 30* up from parallel to the ground

Something is mechanically wrong in your setup then. I've built many a heli, and have never had issues getting 0 pitch at mid stick on any of them. Can you post a picture of your head and setup, because something sounds way off.

Your servos should be powered up with the collective set at mid stick, then place the servo arms on the servos at 90 degrees. If everything in the head is assembled correctly, it should be easy to adjust the links to get 0 pitch.

The DFC head will require some link adjustment, but nothing that can't be accomplished. The DFC main shaft is shorter, so in my case the links had to be made shorter to maintain the same pitch settings, not longer?????

Which main shaft are you using? The FBL shaft is shorter than the flybar shaft, and the DFC shaft is shorter than all of them. Maybe it's just the photo, but it looks like there is a lot more shaft between the swash and the head when you are at 0 pitch than what I am used to seeing with my DFC setup at the same pitch value. I could see how using too long a shaft would place the head too high up and create the issue with the links you are having.

Make sure the shaft isn't installed upside down. The Jesus bolt holes are spaced differently from the head end vs the gear end.

While removing the main shaft I was unscrewing the ball on the swash and it snapped with almost no pressure. I am getting fed up with Align products. Any ideas on how to remove the broken piece from the swash? BTW the shaft is the correct DFC shaft and it is installed correctly.
