Default Damage Pics

Thought some of you might get a laugh from these. This pic was from my crash last weekend. There were plenty more damaged parts, but these were the worst by far. You can see the motor mount even bent. I wouldnt have thought it would actually be possible to bend. But it was a pretty high up crash. Was too dark, always trying to get that last 1 more flight. Then you loose orientation cause its to dark and WHAM.
Oh well its up and flying again. I hope Ive learned my lesson, But probably not

I did bend a Motor Mount too... The earlier ones, and most of the clones are that very thin AU, but the new ones that came with the V2 and later models are much beefier! I also have a Lynx that is super tough, and has slightly larger bolt holes, for mounting different brand motors!

In my years I have bent some main shafts, but that baby there is a top contender for "most bent"!

Dogtooth, That shaft was an align 450 pro shaft from my LHS. But have also just got some from GOGORC on ebay, tarot shafts. They are great, hate the collars.

Ive had many a crash to but never a mainshaft like that.lol

I don't even understand why they still make them. I guess collared shafts save manufacturing costs, but it bites into your pitch range and causes other inconveniences. That shaft in the picture is really, really bent. I have only once in three years ever bent a shaft that bad, and it was when I was stupid enough to spin 3 dollar blades at 4k. Got a 120 degree bend when one of the blades let go.

Wo ! That must have been quite a smack down.

My sympathies.

I once had a servo spas to the end of travel just as I was lifting off. Dove into the dirt full force. Bent the main shaft a good 80 degrees or more. The shaft wouldn't even come out of the bearings without removing the bearing blocks and cutting the shaft. Of course the main bearings were trashed too. Not to mention just about every linkage rod, flybar, rotor hub etc etc etc. I should have taken photos.

Now I buy good servos.

Looks like your in for some major rebuilding.
