did you ever remove and check the bearing stack on the old setup?

yes I did check the bearing stack the only thing I did notice was I had a very small washer on the 3mm nut the instructions did not show that washer. but they did show a washer in between the thrust bearing and the bearing closest to the hub. I did not have this washer. I did not bother to order the washers because I had the tail rotor on order already.

I never changed the plastic grips on the original tail rotor.
