Default RX2702V question confused

Hello flyboys.

I like to by a RX2702V what is the wright version to buy ?

I see the one they use on thereV500 is having a THRO1&THRO2 input and a battery input.

The V450D01 RX is another layout.

What is the wright one to buy to put on my Trex450 pro fbl.

The RX from the V500 or the one from the V450???

Ore is the one they use on the V500 the newest version also compatible on the V450

Thks Ed

It would depend on your tx. The 2801 pro tx works with this rx:

I think the 2702 D works with the newer devo tx.

Hmmm... haven't seen or heard of the RX2702D yet.

But basically the V500 and V450 use the same RX, so there really isn't anything different about the RX.

I wouldn't doubt that they would come out with a devo version though, which will prolly add confusion.

I wasn't aware there was an older 2702V.

Had mine for awhile and it always had 2 throttle inputs, which was before summer.

But as long as you have what ya need.

Only other thing to watch out for, is perhaps the voltage. On bigger class heli's, if memory serves.. if you want to run 6V on the servo's, you'll have to do something different. I can't seem to remember what, but I do remember it was a problem for a guy trying it on a 600 on a different forum.

I wanted to try it on perhaps a 500 atom. But decided to hold off on that for now, after adding all the cash it would cost.

Hi guys, I'm preparing to work on the very same bird as Heli Ed. The Rx2702 is often recommended, but has any one used the Rx2618 or the Rx2801? I see that the Rx2618 seems to get good reviews when used in the 4F200.

All I can say is the 2618 and 2612 are designed specifically for the 4F200 birds. And that mainly has to do with the location/orientation of the servo.

I had a problem a long while back, thinking I could use the 2612V on my EXI 450 as FBL unit. Turns out, because of the location of the servo's.. for the unit to react to correct movement, it was completely wrong. On lift off... the heli tilted to the right, so I stick left. When I did that, it completely slammed on the left side of the heli to the ground.

On those units (2618/2612) you can't reverse the gyro, however the 2702V you can. So the thing I missed when setting it up, was to see if the gyro was doing the right correction when tilting the heli. For example... if you tilt the heli forward, the gyro should cause the elevator to pull down, while the elev/alie push up for my 450.

After figuring that out, I basically destroyed my 450, and had to rebuild it. Which does fly pretty well with the 2702V.

Thanks for the info on Rx2612 and Rx2618. I also see the Rx2801 promoted as an option for the 450 clones. The Rx2801 is so much cheaper than the Rx2702 it makes wonder what's the real difference between the two?

Oops, you're right. I forgot about that all-important detail.

You can reverse the cheaper Walkera 3g gyros. When I changed the servos in my v400 the directions were all wrong. Just reversed the controls and mounted the gyro backward. That reversed the direction of all the gyros. The tail doesn't care which way its mounted. Thus if you happen to have one floating around you can probably use it, but the 2702 is the best option for FBL - or as I plan to do since I already have 2801rx I'm just going to get a beastx and use them together on my next project.

RX2702V-D - Walkera said they could sell me one directly since I could not locate one from any of their distributors. But after the 30.00 dollar shipping it was close to 200.00. If it was a 100.00 maybe, but this price is beastx territory granted this is a receiver and 3 axi gyro.

not sure what to do, i just know i want it to be 3-D capable.

In my opinion... If your going to use a devo TX, it's best just to wait till it catches up with the online stores and see how the prices fair.

However.. if your using a 2801 TX, getting a reg 2702V is cheaper, and still a good rx.

Not even sure if the D version also supports telemetry, and if it would benefit me at all. I mean it's hard enough to keep an eye on the helicopter, then try to see what the tx shows.

Your right I stand to loose more money by being impatient for sure. I will probably wait since winter weather is just around the corner anyways. I only have a Devo 12 and well a backup tx dx6i I hope to never ever have to use.

my thought with the RX2702v-D is that I won't need a beastx plus a receiver or a sat.

I don't really understand the telemetry aspect or even how it could be used. I will never take my eyes off the heli unless I am running from it.

Dang... Devo 12 eh?

That's the expensive high end TX from Walkera then. From what I understand, I'm guessing the standard part of telemetry is just the voltage. For other stuff like rpm, temp, alt, and such would be extra sensors to perhaps plug in for optional that the TX would read from the heli.

As far as at least one beauty or how the 2702V shines, is that it is an all in one unit. That is the one reason why I didn't go with BeastX. Other reason.. I didn't want to purchase another RX or TX. And that is the same case with Walkera's Devo line.

I use one 2702V on a 250, which surprising works better then my other 250 which I left as FB with a tail gyro (GP780), and was very easy to put together as well as less wiring to deal with and less components to install.

When I first put my 250 together with the 2702V, I wasn't sure what to expect. But I did have allot of frustration built up in me with my other 250 FB. After getting my FBL all setup I was pleasantly surprised to see it hovering without any trouble.
