Default Touchy elevator on fast passes

On high speed passes (big stall turn into full collective pass) I'm noticing that the elevator is really touchy at speed. Trying to ease out of the pass tends to snap the nose up pretty hard rather than the smooth climb I want. I was hoping that another synergy person had run into this phenomenon and could help me track it down i.e. my flying? FBL tuning? etc?

For reference: E5 stretch, rail 606 & 96, tail speed up, 2150rpm, scorp 4025, iKon.

I'm not really into speed flying or anything, it's not like 2150 gets you big speed anyways, but I like low fast passes in my routine. This hard pitch up kindof saps the confidence to go fast low down.

common issue with iKON. The system isnt setup for high speed FFF. You can tune it out. lowering the elevator feed forward gain and cranking up the elevator I gain. On my speed machine my elevator I gain is maxed out. Seems to track very well now.

Yeah, I'm running 15% expo on my cyclic. It works great for everything but ffff. I don;t think it's a matter of me being too hard on the elevator, it happens even when I just barely put pressure on the elevator.

I noticed that if I bleed a bit of speed I can get the nice response I want, it's just at full speed that things get twitchy. I may try working with the elevator gain a bit to see if I can get smoother control flat out.

If you can't tune it out it's possible that you're getting the helicopter moving fast enough to stall the retreating blade at that headspeed. A bit more headspeed might get you out of the red or perhaps a little less collective pitch combined with higher headspeed.

+1 on Chris' suggestion. He is an ace on that combo you are flying.

I'm going to take the tablet out to the field with me this weekend and see if I can't tune the elevator gains. I'm a bit wary of over tuning since she already flies excellently in all ways but FFFF.

The E5s is a hard heli to do tuning flights with, it flies so darn well I just want to play, not concentrate on tuning

Feed forward gain will show in other stuff, but cranking the elevator I gain won't harm your 3D flights at all.

Put it on a bank switch, change nothing but elevator I gain. Set it to 80 and try a full pitch FFF speed pass. All the difference in the world!

Above 120MPH I had to back off Feed Forward gain and peg the needle on the I gain. But I doubt the E5s will hold speeds over 120.
