Bought the Align 450 DFC head but I am afraid to fly it. The links from the turnbuckles to the swash or so flimsy I am 100% positive that when I smack 3D my 450 it will come apart. I guess I will thread a rod into it and replace the end, but before you buy the Align 450 DFC think about it carefully. Can you wait a little longer for some kind of a fix? I feel like I threw away 50 dollars, I will make it work but still.

P.S. The Tarot head does look nice, I have no input on it though

My Align DFC head has been working great for months. Just be sure to buy the head that clamps onto the main shaft and not the one that relies only on the jesus bolt. Align released the revised head shortly after releasing the DFC head upgrade, but I'm not sure if the DFC kit comes with the head I'm referring to. You might have to piece it together if you want the align kit with the split head.

As for the turnbuckle links, they work just fine... Just be sure to apply enough pressure when threading them on so that they thread on correctly. Not doing so will cause the threads to strip off as you twist it on.

Grrrrrr! Just had a flimsly DFC turnbuckle come out of the ball link. Thought I was extremely careful threading them together, but I guess not. And this was during simple slow flight. I was able to minimize damage, but a very frustrating crash. I am beginning to join the mounting number of skeptics on the new 450 DFC!!!

I have the align version. I like the simplicity of the head and it was very easy to set up. I did however also have a problem with one of the links breaking. Not sure if it was the cause or the result of the crash.

I replaced it but haven't had a chance to fly again because of the weather. The Tarot links look stronger so I am interested in everyone's feedback.

Everything is stronger on that tarot head: 2.5 jesus bolt, two extra bolts to clamp the shaft, 2.5 feathering shaft bolts and the bearing placement is better.

I have about 20 flights on my Align head works fine for me.. And it's the one that comes in the new kit ... With the new swash ...
I had no trouble putting on the plastic ball links .. Used a slow drill to install threaded links and heated up plastic ball links in hot water .. Worked fine..

Default Screwinbg on plastic ball links

I found that if you take an exacto knife #11 blade and slightly champher the hole to the ball link that it will screw in pretty well.

The marks are nice but making a zero pitch tool is easy as is supporting RDLohr here and buying the one he makes. Much more consistently accurate than machines marks.

On my Align DFC I am not liking how mine felt when I put them on and I tried several times until I ran out of links. I didn't heat them up in water or anything first. I guess I will buy some new links and try that because I am a strong guy with the proper tools but I don't feel confident it threaded correctly. It feels like it doesn't start to grab the thread until half the threaded rod is already into the link. So I think I have half threads only holding
