I check my needles when I refuel. I've found a few coming loose as well. Idk if loctight will hold because of the fuel and I don't want to risk clogging the carb

I usually just check the needles when I'm refueling. I wouldn't use loctite.

Agree. I don't think it would be a good idea.

Did you loose the needle and the needle seat?

If so, I would definitely Loctite the "needle seat".
And, I might use red instead of blue.
I don't have (and never had) that problem, so this is just my suggestion.

However, if the needle is backing out of the needle seat, I would check the O-ring and see if it is worn or torn.
I would also check the retention spring to see if it has "sprung" and not clicking solidly into the knurled detents on the needle's shaft.

I would not add Loctite to the needle's threads

That's a definite forced landing. I've had my regulator needle assy come loose on occasion. In which case engine might die or continue to run erratically.

There is a detent spring thing and an O-ring. If the needle is moving something ain't right. Also extreme vibration can unscrew needles.

I spat out the idle screw from a YS FZ63S the other day - old O-ring.

Almost lost my high speed needle on my 105 yesterday. Noticed fuel dripping from the heli in a hover. Landed it and saw the needle loose. Used needle nose pliers to tighten it up and off I went again. Never had this happen on any other engines I have ever used and I have used many. This engine in only on its 5th tank from new.

doesn't os state in the manual for the 105 they use locktite on the idle needle

besides the retention springs should hold the needle in place or it would be going rich as you were flying

what retention springs? you mean the detent spring? Its only there to hold the actual needle. What unscrewed for me was the entire assembly going back to the intake nipple.
