I believe you are way over geared. Stock 550e comes with 11t pinion, without gov. That's capable of 2700 easy.
With cc gov your stuck around 2250 on 11t. I don't think 13t is a great idea. That's some serious work on the system.

I would agree that 13T is a bit extreme on the gearing for the 550E for running with a Governor on the 112T Helical. You could try a 12T if you are looking for a bit more headspeed but I would definitely stay away from the 13T. Even with the 12T you could run into some issue depending on what headspeed you are looking at....What version ESC software are you running?

Well this is what i was thinking while i was thinking about changing gearing on my truggy motor temps and what not.
I have'nt put a temp gun on the motor but def. running hotter than it was.
just cant understand why i can't get my desired head speed whith a supposedly better esc.
I have reduced pitch values some and will prob. try the 12t. pinion and reduce head speeds.
i havent flown it sinc reducing pitch waiting on weather.....

Oh by the way I before the stall I had just loaded the latest version I think 4.0
Also whith stock main gear with one tooth up on pinion 17t and 520 blades i had 2300 in f mode 3 with no prob was just wanting a little more.
had head tached at 2400 with stock esc. governed just seems so much slower.
should i just go back to fixed end points?
will thecc esc let me get a higher head speed then?

Yes if you go fixed end point on esc and run flat 90-100 with stock 11t and 112t you can run 2600 wide open or better. Its just castle gov want 10% overhead with median voltage. I notice much improved flight times at the lower 2200 gov. So it works well for me. You also have same hs at end of pack as at beginning. Where that doesn't happen with fixed endpoint.

There's known issues, like cut-outs, with that version.

I would step the firmware back to 3.27 and you might find out that your porblems go away...The 4.00 firware has some issues as 1004ron has already pointed out...

4.0 doesn't even show up as an option for me. They have replaced it with 4.1 which works very well.
