Talking Absolutely love my V2!!!

I recently got a T-Rex 500 and love it up and down, and having had a hybrid T-Rex/HDX 450 (only the frame, and head was HDX) I decided that I would seek out some Align V2 parts and get my 450 up to the new V2 model as I was so damn impressed with the 500 I have.

I picked up a V2 CF metal frame on eBay for cheap, just over $50 shipped, once I got it, I noticed that yep ... it was the new dark blue andonized color so I cannot have a mismatching heli here, so from the same seller I snatched a set of V2 fins for $5 and a V2 full head for around $85. I received the second item and instead of the head, the entire assembled tail was in there ... wth so I contact the seller and get things corrected (honest mistake on his part) and he would pay for return shipping of the tail but then I decide ... I think I like the new V2 dark blue tail so I purchase it from him in a seperate transaction for arond $30.

Last weekend I spent the better half of it assembling the new frame, installing components from my current 450 into it, referring to my saved Finless videos and printed manual for assistance oh and of course HeliFreak.com and now I have her all built, finished up last night with a couple small details ... I moved the HS65HB balls to the inside of the servo horns (I am using the double-sided one's so I am on the 3rd hole out = 13mm), checked the head for levelness with the Trueblood swash leveler (was off a few turns at mid-stick) as well as needed some EPA/ATV adjustments at high and low stick. Oh and I had to fiddle with the CC35A ESC as I used the link cable to enable things like soft-start, fixed endpoints, low motor timing but it wasn't recognizing my throttle input ... until I READ the directions in their user manual and raised the low point of the throttle channel until I heard the ESC arm (it was like 5 clicks on the Futaba 7C). I hovered her in my basement and I was blown away by how much better she now flies and the superb cyclic response she has ... I was doing the Carnival pirate ship manuever on fwd and back elevator commands in one spot which was impressive to me and the pitch/aileron response is great as well. I cannot wait to get the heli outside and test her out, and she is finally all done and ready ... tail is rock solid (love the 401 BTW, so simple to setup and damn nice performance). Head is super smooth, thing spins forever after landing ... never did this in my previous setup, Scorpion has really come alive too with the pitch pumps I was doing in the basement. I wish I could fly today as I know it is going to be nice and calm, but its our anniversary so no heli today at all.

I will get some new pics and hopefully a video this weekend, but I have to say that man o man the T-Rex SE V2 upgrades are incredible!!! I do have some other goodies waiting to go on once I get a few flights on her ... I have the Trueblood V2 dampeners (loved them in my V1 head), Hyperion CF paddles, CY Radix CF tail blades.

If you could have only one, which would it be, the 500 or the 450?

Now that's not even a fair question.

but....

There is no arguing the 500 will beat the piss out of a 450.

Damn I hate yall. Now I have to sell off all my 450 stuff so I can buy a 500 because I can't afford both of them.

Yeah, I guess that will have to do. The 450 is starting to get really good for me now with the metal upgrades and good servos I just put in it.

Nice! I am in the process of converting my Blade 400 into a Trex V2... Only my frame was stock. hehehe

Just curious, did you buy Align head assembly for 85? If so, can you provide a link?

Thanks!

They must have already sold, I was watching one that sold for about $82 if I remember correctly.

I just picked up a V1 complete head for $31, just because its not a V2. Only difference is a slightly smaller feathering shaft and bearing from what I understand.

Go to E-bay look for seller (Tennessee Drifter). There is about four or five people that buy the v2 kits, and sell each peice for the highest bid. Or go to

(Radio control parts & accessories)
Type- Helicopter parts
Brand- Align
Source- Electric

I won the bid on a new complete v2 head and tail in the packages for $120.00. I got the head for $85.00.
