what's wrong with her?!
Hey guys, girls,
Have a look at this video... Pay attention to the sound and the vibration in the tail. It's a new kit, with old (crashed... ) electronics. So far, I have changed out: - main shaft - feather shaft - torque tube gears - tail shaft - tail hub - tail blades - main blades Nothing helps. Any ideas please?! I can't really tell what the issue is from the video but it seems like the only thing you haven't swapped out that could be casing vibrations would be the torque tube if it's slightly bent.

You should try to listen to it, carefully. The tail vibrates very much, intermittently... VRRR VRRRR VRRR, mostly when (I get this impression... ) the headspeed changes ever so slightly.

I have had that cause some vibration in my machine before might check that out also check you bearing to make sure none of them are notchy

Are you using governor? If so, can you share your governor setup with us?
I heard chirping sound when you do the pitch pump. Does the tail vibration you referred to occurred at the same time?

Governer: internal Castle
Governer mode Set RPM Auto rotation enabled Gov Gain 25 Spool up rate medium (5) head speed change rate high (8) headspeeds 2100, 2200, 2300 Blades aren't really out of track, I think... I was assuming they werent. I'll re-check later. Swapping out the TT today as well, if all goes well. Another guy (who's quite knowledgeable) told me that this just might be the motor that's dying. All of the electronics were places from an old efl pro that was total loss in a crash. Nothing was wrong with the electronics however. Must have had somebody watching over my back

That gain is way to much, should be closer to 15-16. And your head speed change rate should be closer to 16-18.

25 governor gain is on the high side for Castle ESC. Lower it as ranchhand mentioned. That should reduce/eliminate the chirping sound. If the governor gain is too high, it will cause the rpm hunting. The oscillation of the motor speed can cause the tail wags and vibration.
Another possibility is the bearings in the motor is going out. Because the chirping sound was not there all the time, this may not be the cause. Check the motor bearing if lowering the governor gain does fix the issue. Good luck

what's wrong with her?!
I took the gain down to 16.
Much better, but only in the middle range of my headspeeds... 2100 is vibration free. Lower still bad, higher still bad. Im in the dark here guys... Didnt change any setting before, and it was perfect on the old frame, before the crash... Not cool Sent from my iPhone

Took it down to 14 now. All shivers seem to be gone, in my test-hovers.
Going to the flying field tomorrow to try and "load" her a bit Thanks for the replies guys! I'll keep you posted.

Seems like the gain is to high. You can hear the motor pulsating.
