Raptor 720E who has their eye on this heli?

I sometimes think that TT will price themselves out of the market at this rate. $1000 for a bare bones kit is too high.

I had awesome chance to spend about 3 hours with official czech raptor team today on the 10 day long event.

So guys i can unveil there are some big things coming from Thuder Tiger soon (can't say much more, i promised i won't, it's not official yet).
But they had E720 beast there and i took few pictures on the mechanic part so here is the close up for you who are after this beast.
Overall heli :


Main gear. The biggest piece of cog for helis i saw so far! Notice that teeth are angled and not 90 degrees :


Head of the heli. This is the only flybarred head in the Europe and it was it's maiden flight today!


Main shaft and its holder in the frame. Heavy duty 15mm main shaft.


Here are 2 pictures. On the left one, notice small hole in the metal lever and the hole in frame. This is for setting middle position. On the second photo you see the red part around the servo, you loosen that one, and put some screw driver through whole heli through holes on the first photo. Then turn on the heli and put sticks to the middle and then tighten the red part around the servo. Grats you have 90. Very ingenious method.


If i was after big electric heli, i would get this very likely...

Was going to get one this summer but the late Aug release date vs the original June release date is making this a next year purchase. Summer is too short here.

Midland Helicopters are taking pre-orders, and quoting early September release.
They're calling them G4s, and there are 4 models - nitro FB & FBL, elec FB & FBL.

The E720 looks good and I was really after it until I saw the weight of it. 3.75 kg for this bird without batteries? That's way too heavy.

Could you help me here, please: I'm quite ignorant on 600 and bigger birds: what would be ideal weight and which birds do have them?

A friend of mine told me of converting his Raptor .90 to electric and quoting similar kind of weights...

Item number is 4791-K10. I checked other kits on TT site and K10 kits are without anything. Just mechanical parts, no motor, no ESC, etc. I think this size will have carbon blades in the kit.

There is no ideal weight for a .90 sized heli. It all depends on your preference. Of course, a light heli is more efficient and gives more flight time.

A 4500mah 12S pack is around 1.5 kgs. Adding the heli itself will result in a RTF weight of approx 5.25 kg which is even heavier than the Rex 700e.

My personal target weight of a .90 heli is around 4.7 kg. The lighter the better.
