Default BEC?

Saw on the Banshee forum the HV BEC that one user is making, 30 A continuous and 50 A max! Anybody knows a little more?

What do you want to know? Why you don't ask Linus directly on the Banshee board?

Regards, Helmut

Linus is doing that all private. In the near past he developed several excellent products for RC.
Normally you have to pay via bank transfer.
Sometimes it takes some time until you get an answer from him. He is quite busy all the time.

Regards, Helmut

There's interest for more than 10 of these Banshee Edition BECs. I wonder if he can receive PayPal, I am not paying u$s50 wire cost to buy a BEC, specially when it's a nice small design, not that you need that much amperage.

The problem with PayPal is, that Linus has to pay the PayPal fee. So the price would go up because of the fee.
Maybe he will offer paying via Papal, but the last times he did not.

Ask him on the Banshee board.

Hi

The BEC is ready and I just wait how many interest there is.
I do have Paypal, but if you happen to have a back account in Europe (transfer is free) I prefer that.

If you discuss the price, you might completely forget
A) you get Bec, Progbox and powerbus all complete
B) making such things for just 10 times is much different than doing 1000 of it
C) even a crappy Hercules costs 100,-

Cheers
Linus

Linus, I really admire the work you are putting into this. I think we all understand it is a very special BEC produced in small quantities and the price is what it is.
My choice is not to spend $200 on a BEC, that's all. The 4 crappy Hercules I have have been working wonderfully for me. I will most surely end up with a Kosmik which has a pretty decent HV BEC too, so I don't see the upside to getting this very special one you are designing.

Hi

the BEC is an isolated synchroneous switching converter. The main advantage is the very high efficiency and capability to deliver very constant voltage while heavily changing input voltages and output currents.

The Idea behing PowerBUS is connecting the Servos directly to the BEC and only route signal wires to whereever you need them. There you have some more advantages while due to thinner cables going to the stabi, less vibration is transmitted to the stabi body.

see some photos...

Cheers
Linus

Thanks Linus for this detailed info and photos provided, I am very impressed, you are a genius. My only concerns are based on the Banshee photos I saw, there does not seem to be a whole lot of space to fit all these wires, of course I would love to see them installed on a Banshee to judge better. I congratulate you for what appear to be a great product.

Hi

since this is the dedicated banshee edition, I discussed the dimension before with the banshee engeneering team. The BEC will fit above the rudder servo.

Cheers

I do big air 3D, a bit of smack and just placed fourth in the Speed Cup behind Stefan, Jan and Timo. I plan on using BLS255HV / 256HV on the Banshee and do all those types of flying with it eventually.

Absolutely no problem even for the smaller Jive BEC on LV or the Hercules or Kosmik BECs on HV.

Hi

OK, - I still do not have 10 who likes one, not even close, but I will make some. Just ordered some parts from here and there yesterday night.

I try to make the final ones blackish-goldish as on the rendered photo.

No worries, I let you know where to send the money to, if the BEC is ready for you

Cheers
