Default What did you do with your Goblin today?

I was surprised when I went back four pages but couldn't find one of these threads in this forum.

So, what did you do with your Goblin today?

I had one flight and decided to try ultra low RPM flying for a while, ~1600 I think.

Turns out you need more than 2 metres altitude to execute a back flip at that speed.

Oops.

Damage is blades, boom (ouch), tail fin, tail push rod and servo horns * 3, so not too bad. I haven't tested the shaft and spindle yet though.

This has been my first proper crash with this heli and I've had it 11 months. I'm pleased with that.

Put two flights on the Urukay this morning. I love that thing more and more each time I fly it.

Last week I did some major rewiring to my ESC leads - extended them and made them the perfect size for plugging in the batteries in series. Buh bye Y cable! First flight I was crossing my fingers that everything soldered together nicely.

Also rewired everything to run off the Hobbywing 160 BEC, installed an Ultra Guard, removed Scott Gray Reactor, and installed a telemetry unit (still have to work out some bugs with that one...)

Ya, I like to tweak with stuff.

Got 4 flights this weekend (2+2). Didnt wear contacts today and went flying with glasses, which have lower dioptry, so was not that much fun to fly something you cant see, so i was flying closer But all in all, great weekend.

Default Maiden

Today I had my Maiden flight on my Goblin 700 competition!

Went great! Rock solid, love this heli. Had a small scare with power lines (100 ft away), but other than that it went great. Couldn't have asked for a better landing. All was in normal mode, didn't even switch to IU1/2. It's been quite some time since I flew last, so taking it easy.

Overall I am loving the heli and glad to be back in the hobby - even if I did have to pretty much relearn everything from scratch. These batteries are crazy!!

Hope everyone else had as good a flying day as I did!

Awesome 880!

Today I had 6 sucessful flights on my 630c

Practiced alot of big air with constant loops and aileron tic tocs. Also working on controlled high speed passes that suddenly stop in front view. This thing is fantastic.

7 flights on mine this weekend. Need to try adjusting the gain on my Castle gov - running 1800 HS I get occasional gov bogs that can be scary depending how close I am off the ground.

Zoned out pretty good today in one of my flights when I woke up I realized I was flying like an idiot about 1 or 2 feet off the deck doing half piro flips (that I just learned how to do in real life about 3 weeks ago).. I'm getting too confident lol I raised it back up to at least head level or higher.

I love this heli - its a ton of fun. Got my head gain dialed in so no bobbles or woobles during hard tick tocs - it feels nice!

Flew 9 packs today on both my G700c and G500. Did my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th full piroflips ever in real life. Very happy with how both these Goblins fly. Put NEOs w/ rescue on both of them and used it 3 times today. Came home with in-tact helis

Last night I redid my setup on the Urukay with my new Soko gauge. If anyone says that gauge is all hype they're lying to themselves. The coolest part is pairing it with the Soko app, especially with the "virtual main shaft" option. Worked great on the 3 bladed head and I'm confident my tracking is dead nuts now - was off .7 degrees on one!

Also painted my blade tips glossy red, it matches the canopy nicely

Can't wait for the weekend!

On my KSE, i made a parallel battery cable and re-geared it to run on 6s. Have been flying on 6s with the stock 20T motor pulley. RPMs are just a little to low. It will climb inverted but slow. I put on a 22T to raise headspeed a bit. Should be in the 1300 range. Slow-D piro flips are a blast. Running GensAce 5300 mAh VBar, 13.5°, with a ton of torque pre-comp. A five minute flight leaves 73% in the batteries.

Two flights today, first after the rebuild after the first crash. I was very gentle and timid, but it flew perfectly.

Glad you're back in the air!

I flew the snot out of my Urukay and 380 today. I noticed I've started upping my dual rates and lowering my expo

Both Goblins are perfect right now - not Goblin related but I think my pinion started slipping today on the HD500, so that'll be seeing bench time next.

I spent the weekend getting acquainted with my new KSE. So far I really like this heli. I think I made a good choice.

Trying to fix it! Tail pitch freezes, or becomes really stiff, when it spools up. Everything appeared to be OK, but it gets all new bearings tonight. Crossing fingers...
