I believe I've read somewhere that the Airtronics radios no longer have the extendable antenna. I know mine doesn't.

Extendable antenna
mahathyr
I've got the "Airtronics " SD-10G. I've had it one year now. It does have an antenna "extension". My radio has a silver ring just under the pivoting antenna. I point the folding antenna straight up and pull to get it extended. In my opinion this places undue stress on the antenna pivot point. As the "extending" part is a rather tight fit". It would be nice if they had put some way to grip the extension in order to extend it. I hope this is of some small help. Regards

right now i'm in a newer dilemma with the new radio..im debating with myself whether should i remove the Stick-Stops or should i just let it be and give it a try...i've been with the SD-10g for 2 years now without the stick-stops...what do you guys think?? and if i should bind my new radio with stick-stops not removed, should i do re-setup on my helis?...all my helis have BeastX installed on it

I fly with the stick stops because my JR 9303 had them and I was accustomed to the shorter travel. I recently picked up a DX6i to use for flying an mCP X and it doesn't have stick stops. Man, the collective felt weird! I had to go into the pitch curves and compress them so I hit 100% well before the stick reaches full travel. Before I did that, the collective movement felt like I was rowing a boat!
In theory you shouldn't have to re-do your setups with the new radio because it's calibrated to output 100% travel with the shorter stick throw. Wouldn't hurt to check your collective pitch range to be sure though.

After the first production run of radio, the extended antenna feature was discontinued due to the fact that it wasn't needed for increased range. Early testing show more range with the antenna extended, later testing showed this not to be the case.
