500 vs 550 blades gaui hurricane 550

Hi, not flown for abour 15 yrs, got as far as flying 8's. Purchased an upgraded Gaui Hurricane 550 with 500 blades. So as a beginner which size blades will be more suitable 500 or 550. Thanks.

BIGGER blades s have more float a tiny bit slower reaction with same motor shorter blades are quicker at flipping and rolling

If your esc is up to the task I say run 550s

Hi, thank you for your reply, very helpfull. The motor on the 550 is a Z Power Z 20A 980 kv. and the ESC is the Gaui 50A.

550mm will chew up battery faster too ..
Im not sure how the hurricane is set up typically a 6s protos uses 425mm blades and a YGE esc

The protos on 473mm blades 6s and. 60 amp YGE esc

My synergy. E5 on 556 blades 6s needs 100amps
Im not sure how you have such a small esc ...
Is that an 8s motor ... ?

The ESC is a bit small....I run 100a /6s on my 550 and run 550GF blades most of the time and use that same motor. 520 CF blades would be ideal !, but more costly.
Mid boom Gaui and 475/500 CF blades on 6s is the BEST!
