Default Turbulence carbon boom problem

Hi guys I'm building a Turbulence D3 EX and I have a question for those of you who are using the carbon tail boom.
Am I supposed to be able to fully join the two plastic halves or is the gap normal? I was tightening the screws when I heard the carbon crack a little so I backed up a turn but I'm afraid of having the tail fly off...

As a result when mounting the tank support frame the ali stay was floating around between the main frames just under the tail boom because I could not make the tail assembly join so could you guys tell me If I have missed something here?
Thanks a lot!

Can't say what to do about the gap, but I would take the boom off and investigate what cracked a little.

on mine, the bottom of the plastic boom brackets are pretty snug, which holds the tank support just fine.
Don't go overboard with it though. Just enough.

The gap on the top of the brackets, on mine, is about half the gap you seem to have.
I would say a touch under 1mm, but pics can be deceptive.

The boom cant come out anyway, as the belt tension wants to pull it toward the chassis.

What will happen if its way too loose, is the boom "may" move forward, and lose belt tension.

Ive never had that happen, but it is possible.

Go with you gut as far as the creaking/cracking sounds go.
Do a preflight check each time for belt tension for a while if your worried.
If it hasnt moved after a gallon, its not going to at all.
