Looking for a longer main shaft

I'm building a scale bird and could really benefit from a longer main shaft for my 4 bladed head to clear the fuse. I have the CF with the third bearing now. Does anyone know of a longer main shaft? Or perhaps another brand shaft that is still 10mm diameter that might work?

Have you tried a 600N shaft yet?

I looked it up and it's about 10 mm longer, but not sure if it fits at the bottom in the main gear the same way. Does the N have three bearing blocks?

Yes, a 600N has a third bearing block on the bottom. The extra 10mm may be used for the third bearing block on the bottom, so it may not help you there. I may have one laying around in my room. I'll take a look at it tonight whenever I get home.

I don't have an 600ESP main shaft, but I found a 600N and 600EFL main shafts. the 600N is longer than the 600EFL on the bottom which is used to fit a third bearing block. However, it is also longer than the 600EFL on the top. I'm sorry that I cannot find any 600ESP around my house. I sold them all. Please see the picture for more detail.

Whaaat? You, scale? My 600 esp is fitted with the 3 bearing mod and the shaft used is the 3G mainshaft. From the top of the upper bearing support to the bottom of the align fbl head it is 2 1/4 inches long. How much more do you need? Is the nitro shaft even longer?

What version 600 is this going on? The original 600 uses the third bearing block too, but the extra length is on the bottom and not the top. The DFC shaft is shorter than the standard E or ESP main shaft.

Bringing this thread back to life since I have the same dilemma.

I too am building a scale Heli and the main shaft is about 10-15mm too short. I already have the nitro shaft which is 201mm as stated in the previous post. I can't lift the mechanics cause the tail will not line up.

Is there anything longer than the nitro shaft? Do I have to find someone to fabricate one for me? Is anyone into fabricating?

It's quite easy to drill new holes for the Jesus bolt if you need to make small adjustments.

For some scale applications you have to make a shaft. Go to Mc master Carr.Com and buy some 4140 shaft steel in 1 foot lengths. Buy a drill press for $65 from harbor freight and this drill bit. So easy to do maybe 30 minutes and it drills like butter. If you want to drill the center for the head cap then you will need a lathe, very hard to get it true with a drill press, but can be done.
