hi Jasmine, i was watching your setup video of the DX7... it appears the pitch and throttle curves are setup for ESC governor off... after flying your 250, is it better to have it the way you had on the video or is it better to have the governor on with a different curves setup...?

I have not tried to set up the governor, so I don't know. The video is not really designed to show specific settings, as they are largely a matter of personal preference, but more to show the concept of setting up a radio and helicopter using a systematic approach to get all the settings correct in one shot. As I mention at a few points, I'm still tweaking things to figure out how I like it. The last few times I flew it, I was still messing with the expo settings on cyclic, and have found that almost no expo at all was making it fly how I like it. I am lazy and I don't like to push the sticks very far

hi I have built my 250(great videos) But i cant seem to get my motor to turn?
when i plug in i get 2 beeps then a constant quick beeping. cant seem to get into set up mode either? im new to rc helicopters and so far i have had nothing but hard ships, please help

Post a question in the main forum so people can help you with that. It's not specific to the build videos really.

We'll need to know your whole setup, particularly which radio you are using.

if you have a 6i its bad.i had the same problem.being a newbie it took me 2 weeks to figure it out.if it is a 6i go to the monitor screen and see if you actually get full travel.mine stopped at half thus no setup mode.sounds like your problem,be carefull as mine went full throttle by itself thrying to get into the setup mode.luckily i had the main blades off.im new but not stupid.

that happens when you have the throttle up when you plug the battery in. I have had that happen many times to me.

I had to reduce one servo to 95% - otherwise it was fine. I put my rudder at 125% but I still think the piro rate is a bit slow.

I just got a t-rex 250 for my birthday and thanks to these videos it helped me build it from box to flying helicopter in just 2 evenings. I followed along with your videos and setup my helicopter pretty much just like yours with a dx7 transmitter. I flew my trex 250 a little bit last night and realized that it is more sensitive on the cyclic controls than my trex 450 and 600. I am still new to programing a helicopter and I had someone else setup my 450 and 600. My question though is there an alternative way to tone down the cyclic controls besides expo and dual rates? I set some dual rates on with plenty of expo and it seemed to calm down the controls but I was wondering if there was any other setting I could try changing to make the cyclic less sensitive.

On the swash mix screen I have all three settings still defaulted at +60% but on one of the videos I saw you had them set in the 40's. would that limit the throw a little more?

Yup, lower your swash mix on elevator and aileron, i have mine at 45 on each, and it's pretty good for now, i did dial it up to 55 once, and it was rolling and fliping to fast for my liking. Need some time to get used to this little sucker myself, flies well for how small it is.

Yeah you really need to throw in maximum collective and then move the cyclic out to all four corners and make sure nothing is binding. If you used the stock servos, 60% might be a bit much. You could try some flybar weights... I would avoid using too much expo, because then you're having to move the stick all over the place, and getting a reaction from the thing becomes a lot of work.

thanks again for the videos i just Finlay got my kit in on Friday and built it over the weekend. it is much more stable then the last one i tuned up for my Buddy. i don't know if it was all the bearing swaps, sanding of spacers, or the compression bushing in the tail grips but this one feels just like my 450.
one thing i might have missed so correct me if i am wrong but when building the flyby cage it is a good idea to make note to put the links on the right way or you will be taking it apart when it comes time to connect them to the washout arms. i note this as the picture in the book is wrong, the words should face away from the ball link.

Yeah Bob mentioned that in one of his videos. They are on there correctly on mine... not sure how I showed it in the video.

I reduced those rates down to 40 and it cured my problem.

yeah Bob makes it really clear on the 500 build but i think it needs to be mentioned on all of them as this may be a fist bird for a lot of people. how do you remember to get them on the right way? i still look each time and still sometimes forget to put the fly bar setscrews up and i have to take it apart and switch them. maybe if you were to say when you are looking down threw the holes in the cage where the fly bar will go with the setscrews on top you should be able to see the righting on the left link and not on the right?

wow, I was used to flying my blade cp pro so I had them cranked up as high as they would go. 70ish, but then it was binding so now I have lowered them all to 65 but I might get he lighter paddles for some even faster tricks.
