You name the file "tag", it automatically puts the .txt extension when you save it as a text file...He obviously tried to save it as "tag.txt", and when he saved it as a text file it made it tag.txt.txt...

Nevermind...I figgered it out. I have installed the camera on an old horizontal stab with two layers of servo tape. I have fit the camera on one of my Caliber 90s, and will get some videos tomorrow of some high speed aerobatics from the tail.

Fun fun!

PEBKAC on my part. i'm an idiot.

i didnt read every post in this thread to see that the 720 version required a microSD. the slot is so small i didnt even see it until i was packing it up to return to the seller. DOH!

anyway, picked up an 8gb card from fry's this morning on the way to the field. too bad the wind was 20mph with 10mph gusts on top of that. the 250 could barely stay in the air. notice my 30° tilt trying to hold a hover. still, nice video. i need to dampen my mount to lose the vibes. but, this is a very nice camera for $15 + $20 card. i paid close to $80 for my 20mb 320x120 DVR 5-in-1 a couple years back.

Yeah, i have file extensions hidden and forgot all about the auto naming thing but seeing as mine was hidden it just read tag.tex an not tag.tex.tex. Ill remember in future.

Now what memory does it use? Trying to figure that out. Hopefully I'll get to post my first flight video tomorrow.

What sort of documentation are you looking for here? If you think the best sort of anything is available on eBay for $15 shipped, you need to familiarize yourself with eBay.

Have you tried a diff usb lead to the one that came with it ? the lead i got with mine is ok for data transfers but it will not charge it although it looks like its charging. Try diff usb leads and diff usb ports on ur pc, i'm guessing the lipo is fully flat & the crappy usb wont charge it.

Have any of u tried the webcam yet ? i just downloaded the driver but not tried it yet as there may be a risk of it bricking my cam.

If yours has the memory on board, try here. The flash may be bad

http://www.chucklohr.com/808/#sosfakeflash

I'm gonna guess that mfging in China is a bit complicated like it is here. The peeps who make the unit are not the ones who make the chips and are not the ones selling them on Ebay either. peeps selling fake flash have no more scruples about selling one to us than the do to a mfgr. Due to the high incidence of fake flash from China, I'm gonna guess that that was a contributing factor to this camera now coming without flash on board.

As much as I like to tinker and experiment, If I'd wanted a webcam, I'd have bought one. I purposely bought a monitor that did not have one. I don't wish to brick mine either just to see if it can be done. The biggest hassle with these little gems is that it takes 2 weeks to get one.

Don't get me wrong, the driver is a good find. Now if they can come up with a wireless dongle for it to use as a webcam, that's different

What software did you use to convert this and add the overlays?

Micro SD. Here's the card I got: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820211342

Mine came Friday and had a flight in a plane this morning. Worked very well, it's the $15 E-Bay one with external memory.
