Throttle spinning
Hi all, I'm somewhat new to rc heli flying... I'm almost done with mastering orientations. I am now flying the v913 from WLToys. But my question is this:
My helicopter, when i give it full throttle, it gains altitude (ofcourse) But it start spinning to the right (yaw). When i am just hovering above the ground it does not do that, so its probably not a trim issue. What causes this? I'm a bit confused now xD Greeting from Holland DutchPrime |

More throttle speed gives BOTH more lift and more torque (rotating force on the body of the heli). Could be the more torque from increase throttle is more than the tail motor can compensate for. Also could be that as the throttle and the tail are on the same stick (assuming mode 2) that either you (by accident) or the TX (through cheap construction) is changing the rudder signal.

The first point might be correct. How do I increase the tail blade speed?
I thought of the second point already. I focused on the transmitter and it still did the same |

Check the tail prop is not weak, bent, worn or damaged through crashes. You may be able to get a replacement tail prop. Depending on how long you have flown the v913, the tail motor can also wear out (it is a brushed motor after all). Lastly do not fly to LVC (low voltage cutoff). This makes the battery less effective and the increased current demand may not be getting to the tail motor (also shortens the life of the battery considerably). Unfortunately, the v913 is an entry level model and not expected to be "user maintainable". If it is still mostly new, you may be able to get a waranty replacement from the seller. Sounds like your skills may have progressed to a level where a less "entry level" model is required (like a Blade 230S or better).

I was pretty surprised cause it isn't new anymore, but still nowhere near time for something like this to happen....
I was already looking into a more intermediate helicopter. I had my eyes on the Blade 230s already. I just bought one. I was getting kinda sick of the v913 also having a pretty hard time with a slight breeze. I think i was already more skilled then needed when i bought the v913 |

I started on a v911, and the jump to the CP mcpx was very hard. A simulator was a big help. The 230 has SAFE which should help your transition.

Sounds like some good old fashioned tail blow out that's oh so common with helis that have a motorized tail.
Expo on elevator and aileron can reduce it, a longer tailboom works very well also. If the tail motor isn't just worn out that is. Really TBO is the nature of the beast when it comes to ultra micros, a lot of times you have to adjust your flying style to deal with their shortcomings. 230 should be a great choice for you, won't be as twitchy/sensitive to stick movements as a nano, mcpx, ect. and I hear it has great tail hold for a heli with a motorized tail

I thought this at first as well. The confusing part is the direction of the spin. If the main rotor turns clockwise as viewed from above then the tail should be blowing out to the right and the heli spinning to the left.

Im a lil late chiming in, but for future reference.....
Tail motors tend to collect dust and fine fibers/hair and this will slow their response time. Pull the tail rotor and look at the motor shaft with a magnifying glass in good light. Remove any debris and lightly oil the shaft. |

Another possible root cause is a bent feathering spindle. But I would agree that it's time to start flying a cp heli; they are SO much more rewarding.
