Something new!

Fellow at my field bought a set of these. Talk about making it easy to video your flights! Same quality as the regular keychain cam that many of us have.

Been following this thread for a while and I finally purchased one of the so called "#3" type keychain cameras since there supposed to better than most. Well I don't know yet since its raining non stop here!

Built what I hope to be a vibration proof mount because I flew another flyers keycain cameras a month ago and it was full of the waves with a solid mount.. Anyway I'm hoping this mount works well.
It mounts to the extra skid mounts on my Logo600se, its very rigid and has a weighted tray for the camera. Used 1/2oz of lead under the tray, zeal gell for anti vibe support.

I'll post back how it works, that is if it ever stops raining!

Made a few tests and revised the mount to use two layers of zeal and 1oz of lead.

Tried different head rpm and found that lower was not better for my logo 600se. Take off is at 1600 rpm and flight was 1850 rpm. Video is at my local flying field and its still wet from all the rain...

NOT true HD at all... I have one.. video up above somewhere.. truly not worthwhile.. since it only up-converts the resolution using built in software... but basically uses the same imaging chip.

You can increase your video size using the regular cam with your movie software. Sure it's bigger.. but at a cost of quality. Plus you then need a high speed memory card.. mine doesn't make the cut and has pauses in the video.

Thanks guys! Its working well enough for my needs.

After flying it a few more times I find I need to make a wedge to use when taking look down shots from altitude. Just going to use hardwood and Velcro.

That permanent tilt you've got in your key-chain camera is quite easy to fix.
Once you get inside the video head is only held in place with a dab of hot glue.
It's very easy to line it up and reglue, either with a hot glue gun or a soldering iron.
I've got two of those cameras and I had to do it to one of them.
