Is that black fuel tubing on the lower frame to help with wire chafing? Details please.

Hi John - Yes, I had some Hayes neoprene left from nitro stuff. I cut a slit from end to end using my X-Acto knife. Used a little CA along the edge of the frame opening to hold it on. My battery leads are out the side of the pack as they must fit in in the standing position. So, the they were touchy to insert and remove. There are probably better ideas on this.

Rob, I used the Hayes on my 6HV to protect the batteries a bit in a crash, but haven't gotten to test it properly. I filled the tubing with silicon, you could even use black, but it looks good and holds well, but can still be removed...

So, you filled the split tube with silicone? And then the silicone bonded the tubing to the frame edge? If so, sounds better than CA, since CA dries white. Also silicone could be easily wiped clean for a better finish. Cool

Yes, wiped clean, reminded me of my bathroom tiling days. It came out quite nicely, however, in the future, I think I'll try black silicone caulk for an even more refined look. One could also use neon green fuel line, or whatever color to match their canopy...

Don't tempt me. LOL! I think the fuel line is too transparent to look neon once it's on the carbon. That is, unless white caulk were used.

I have a very opaque neon green fuel line on my 3D+ that would show well for sure. I can't really say where I got it as it's been a while, but it's out there.

I have the Logo 3D (not the SE). It flies well, but the 6HV is a much more precision instrument (much more precise and much quicker, IMHO).

I don't know anything about the Whiplash.

I have been drooling over the 7HV since it was announced. Based on my experience with five other Compass machines, the 7HV was the only way to go.

Rob,

We are the same but different, lol ! I don't know where your design came from but my canopy looks different than yours. I didn't notice it until I got a photo of mine. Check it out! Either way, I like them both.

Yours is "Checkers" mine is "Future". I have the Checkers scheme on the 6HV...



I like it better on your 7HV than my 6HV.

No matter whose, it's one attractive bird, even with stock canopy. It's a nicely visible scheme too. Flames approaching, nice black and white graphics broadside. Big enough to be seen either way.
