Wink

Ludde,

Something is not installed correctly, as I've installed these on numerous helicopters with no issues. This is the first I've heard of this from any customers, so let's make sure everything is installed correctly before making any attacks on the product (you aren't working for a competitor, are you? Ha...). If you are truly unhappy with the product, I have no problem with you returning it, but let's make this right first. Feel free to e-mail me at sales@kdedirect.com and when I get home, I'll check all measurements for you and make sure we get it solved. Please e-mail me pictures of your setup to help understand what you are seeing. I want you to truly enjoy the products, so let's make this right.

Thanks,
Patrick

It's not that I don't trust you in your measurements, but what I don't understand is the statement "looks like crap..!! dont wana pull the frame sides in on the battery tray and gyro/rx mount and then push it out on the bearing blocks and bottom plate!!!" Can you show me a picture where it looks poor to you? I've never seen an issue with this and the parts are machined to much tighter tolerances than the stock Align parts or other upgrades I've tested. 1mm is approximately 0.039", which is much less than the tolerance and slop within the carbon frames, so where is the issue you are seeing? I'm not attacking you for your comments, as all negative feedback is good in my opinion to continue to improve upon future products, but I want you to be happy with the product and show me the concern you have. Saying my products are "crap" bothers me personally, so I want to understand why you are upset. With other 300+ TREX 500 kits sold worldwide, you are the ONLY customer who has been upset with the quality or fit of the products, so let's make this right for you. Feel free to PM or e-mail me directly if you'd prefer to discuss this offline.

HeatShrink, if it really matters to you, they weigh 18 gr. (on my digital kitchen scale) but I posted that already in post #14.

They fit perfectly (as do all the other KDE products) with no bearing play whatsoever. Perfect fit into the frames as well.

I have the parts installed in 2 500s. The helis fly great (I don´t).

Got them some time back with CenterStick.com. But somehow they don´t list them for the 500 any more.

ok sry then :-) the frame looks twisted,

the space between the frame sides on my 500 ESP is 39mm,
KDE bottom plate as well as Align main mast bearing blocks are 39mm,
Align battery tray and RX/gyro pad and motor mount is 39mm.
but KDE battery tray and rx/gyro tray is 38mm?

thats pretty strange?
why do same parts smaller?
im at work and dont have my cam here but I think you get it without pics :-)

i don't know, but it seems to me that if there was such a difference in size then the other 300 people who have installed these things would have been making statements from the get-go. just my 2c

I have a T-Rex 500 (with all metal upgrades and TT)
Just like an ESP (except the canopy)

I installed KDE bottom plate, battery plate and ANTI-ROTATION
BRACKET. My parts fit perfect. Main bearing block in the mail...

Very high quality and good fit on my parts

The only one I will not fit is the gyro tray, because I love Rick Lohr smooth surface gyro tray. Easier to install FBL gyro and Rx in my opinion.

Ludde,

I've run a series of measurements on the bottom brackets, battery mounts, and receiver mounts and overall, there is a slight variation in width due to the polishing processes used after CNC machining to produce the high-quality finish of the KDE Direct brand. Overall, the average widths are:

Bottom Brackets: 39.0mm
Battery Mounts: 38.5mm
Receiver Mounts: 38.6mm

Overall, there is a 0.5mm discrepancy (< 0.020") difference between parts, which is far less than the tolerance throughout the carbon frames and other components. If you'd like, take measurements of the stock Align plastic components and you'll find tolerance much larger than CNC machining/polishing.

Custom service is always my #1 priority, so as I've said before, I will refund you for any items you are unhappy with, just let me know how you'd like to proceed. In the future, to continue to improve the KDE Direct products, I will discuss this with the machinist and we will tighten up the tolerances between all parts and improve the polishing procedure to limit the discrepancy. Overall though, there shouldn't be any issues with fit on the helicopter, so your setup may be very unique.

Ludde,

maybe it is your location "middle of sweden". The cold shrinks your parts.

i'm simply saying that if this was a real issue and if they've sold hundreds of these parts, then why are you the only one who seems to have this problem? it seems like we'd be hearing from many many more people if this was the case. that's my logic, flawed as it might usually be

The KDE RX plate I received was on the narrow side.
I just added washers between the frames and the plate.

Ended up doing the same on the battery plate to allow an Outrage 3300 to fit between the frames (lowered battery tray).
