Default Gaui problems

When I turn the main rotors on the my Gaui 200 nothing else turns. Everything seems to look alright. When I plug it in and give it some throttle, the rotor turns about one turn and then there is this grinding sound and it stops.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks.

The motor is turning?
If yes, you shlud check 4 things:
  1. the motor turns in the right direction? If not, you should invert 2 connecrors of the motor power wires.
  2. the pinion is fixed to the motor shaft? If not, fix it with Locktite
  3. the screws that fix the main gear to the main shaft are tightened?
  4. the one way bearing in the main gear is OK?
If not, you should check if the ESC is OK (wires are soldered?) or if the motor is OK.

Ciao,
Egidio

The one way bearing is known for coming loose from the main gear. You will need a new main gear with OWB.

A bit of a newb myself, but I also have a theory. The grinding sound you mentioned makes me think that perhaps the pinion isn't adjusted close enough to the main gear and it's just spinning next to it, contacting enough to make the grinding noise but the gears aren't meshed together enough to fully drive the rotors. Take this for what it's worth. Like I said, I'm new to this, too.

Thanks for the help. The motor does not turn when you turn the main blades by hand.
It was flying fine and I landed, changed the battery and suddenly it doesn't work anymore....weird.

Please check all points in my previous post and report the results here

P.S.: turn the head ccw - the main gear should turn, with the motor, of course.
