With all the trouble some have had with their 130X out of the box, I took it real easy for 18 flights. Aside from the spool up vibration and shaking on negative pitch, I haven't had any issues.
Today, I got some new batteries put some 003 silicone orings on it and went to the park. The orings seemed to get rid shaking on negative pitch. Fist crash (if that's what you want to call it), was a total brain fart. I though the TH was on and went to check the servo movements and violently spooled it up. It tipped over on the asphalt and had both main blade and tail blade strikes. They were nicked but OK. I think the B gear looked a little rough, but all was spinning so I gave it a shot. She flew just fine. I had a good flight but got messed up and hit TH. Went down soft in the grass, not issues. Then I was flying, it was windy and I really screwed up and crashed it HARD into the branches of a tree. It was up about 20 feet or so, but the worst part was I couldn't find it. I was freaking out a bit, took about 10 minutes to find it. Finally I did, I climbed up as high as I could and shook the snot out of the tree until I got a hold of it and tossed it to the ground. Total damage, 1 broken canopy pin. And away she flew. Then I finally did it, slammed it hard into the ground. This time the C gear spun on the shaft and she was done. I have to say, this helicopter is turning out to be a lot more durable than I was expecting. |

Its durable in a crash as long as you hit soft grass. I'll give it credit on that. long term wear is another issue.
The weird spool up tip over you had, is normal after a good bump on the ground. The MCPX has the same issue. Someone reputable told me that its not the crash, its the amp draw on the board that causes this. So if you hit hard and don't hit the throttle hold the blades coming to an abrupt stop scrams the control unit. In the future if you crash with no damage, just unplug the battery and reinitialize the control unit. I started doing this and haven't had anymore weird tip overs. |
