adjustable gear mesh?
I just got my SR 120 over the weekend. When i opened it I started the little mods everyone does to tight up the helicopter right out of the box .thats when i noticed the main rotor gear and motor pinion are to close and biting. It doesn't seem to have adjustable gear mesh. So my questions are does anyone else have this problem? Is mesh adjustable on a 120?if so how? If not do you thing making one motor mount hole (closest to center of gear) slightly bigger and using a washer on the motor screw will provide an adiquit way to adjust the mesh.
Thank you for ur help First post also yay |

Mine was the same way, I just opened both holes ever so slightly.
When I say ''ever so slightly'' I mean barely at all. I used and indexed set of drill bits by hand, I started with the drill bit that seemed to fit the hole exactly and just spun it between my fingers, I think it only took 3 increases in size to get a little play between the gears.

Do the ziptie mod first to make sure you gear mesh problem isn't just the frame flexing.
Drill a hole in the frame just slightly above the little brace that the motor sits against, when you tighten the ziptie it will pull the motor against the brace.

Loosen the motor screws and run a piece of waxed paper or Ziploc bag between the gears as a spacer. Then tighten the motor down. Worked for me. It was kinda noisy before I did this.

I noticed it seemed tight by hand, but mine flies fine, if it was too tight runtime would suffer and the motor would be dead by now.

For the best performance and flight time there should be a little bit of play between the gears.
