- Pinion: Current pinion wear is premature and caused by an error in manufacturing that unfortunately wasn't detected until too late. Will be corrected very soon.

- Longer carbon tail push rod: Even though not really needed, would indeed be convenient to have and will be changed in the future.

There are others of course and some solutions as stated have already been implemented, such as shouldered bolts, pulleys, etc.

As for the new model, cannot comment yet But soon, you will all find out.

Most important is that Bert is honest and mentions the issues were manufacturing faults. That puts a lot more confidence in the goblin since admitting a fault and working on it would always produced a better ,improved heli unlike if you were to blame users. Keep it up Bert and SAB heli division.

Thanks Bert!

I noticed my pinion wear it worse at the Top of the pinion, my presumption was the angle in the gears was cut at a different angle than the main gear.

IMHO it's impossible to get everything right with a new design. The extremely cool thing is you guys continually improve and that's all we really want.
Big Kudos and I am a fan!

+1 This level of open communication and feedback is very satisfying. I'm confident that I'll be buying more SAB helis in the future because of it.

Mystic3D,

My pinion looks exactly like yours. Changed mine last nite after 25-30 flight, and also notice that the bottom is worn very badly, while the top looks new. Have a buddy that just had two pinions anodized, one hard anodized.....I'm awaiting reports from him on wear.

I have to say that I find the support from SAB pilots and SAB itself is very refreshing. I'd been holding off getting a Goblin until recently, I took the plunge....I was leery at first, thinking that I was wasting my time trying to find something that suited me as well as my 7HV...I'm glad that I did get the Goblin, as right now, I'm considering selling the 7HV for a second Golbin. It's not only a great flying machine, but its design and looks are just neat as hell!! Aside from the pinion problem, mine as been trouble free thus far.

Jim

Thanks for the comments guys, I am currently in Italy at the SAB factory testing some of these fixes among with something else

One thing I forgot to mention is the spring for the tail idler pulley, some people have reported that it "pops off" in flight, this is not a critical issue, can be easily fixed by applying some JB Weld to the spring, but we're looking to get this corrected as well.

Regards,

Bert
