Governor mode good idea or not?

With the stock BL35X with the sport kit does anyone use the the governor mode at all? I didn't know if would be any different running between mode one or not. Is there a good or bad reason to run the governor. I know with the mcpx the governor is the new big thing because it's not as hairy but is still responsive and has alot of punch. Just wondering.

Stock align gov sucks. Get a Castle Ice Lite 50 if you want a gov at a decent price.

It's a great idea to use a governed headspeed.
It's a bad idea to use the Align governor.

they have easy pay basically they break your payments down into 2 or 3 payments and pay per month so if that castle esc is 84.99 you pay $43 a month for 2 months no interest so its not something that is being financed I have done this a few times with tower as I am also on a very tight budget as well as many others in this hobby. I have the castle esc in my sev2 and the gov works really well

I tried the V2 scorpion commander on my 450. It didn't fly well (3s or 4s) w/ governor. I wasted hours trying to get it right.

Lucian (tech support) from scorpion recommened not to use governor on 450 sized class heli.

IMHO 450 really don't need governor, esp 450 Pro. Run 100% throttle!!

Get the castle creations ice lite 50. Very easy gov setup. Using the USB link and your computer. It also has many configurable options as well as a switching BEC instead of the less efficient linear BEC. The BEC can be programmed for 4.8v to 7v in .1v increments. It's not the best, but it has a good gov and a Kontronik will cost you double what the castle will cost. It comes with a coupon for a free USB link for programming. You can get it on eBay for about 75 shipped. If the coupon is expired submit it anyway as castle will honor it.

I say again. The gov is very easy to setup. If you need help I'd be happy to call you to help set it up. I even have a spare USB link I'd send you so you don't have to wait for yours to come in. Just when you get yours send mine back.

Good point. If you do run the govenor, you'll need to reduce your TC to give the gov some headroom. And possibly need to go up 1 tooth on your pinion depending on the HS you want to maintain.
