Default Cheapest compressor for airbrushing?

i'm tired of using rattle cans, i want to get into airbrushing, i won't be laying down giant base coats or doing very delicate true-flames, so i won't be needing an expensive airbrush kit with a giant compressor.

i found this little compressor here and i wonder if i can get a cheap airbrush like this and get adequate spray

If i can't use that compressor, are there any other ones that are cheap? I read alot online and seems like most people are saying most dedicated airbrush compressors suck, people tend to just get a regular compressor and adapt it for airbrushing

something like this compressor would be the minimum you want to spray anything

they had em at Harbor freight, but they looked bad and same price

You have to have a tank, otherwise air is pulsing and would never work.

That brush would work, but there mini hvlp detail gun is a decent price and a better tool. More like a rattle can on steroids than a rattle can like the one you posted. the advantage is being able to turn up the air and get super fine atomization

here are some decent hobby grade airbrushes that at least are dual action and do something more than act a glorified spray gun

that place also has complete systems here

You need at least 7 HP and a 120 gallon tank

I would go with the mini HVLP gun. You can lay down some extra paint like primer on larger surfaces and still be able to turn it down for the fine stuff like an airbrush. The package the gun comes in will say how many CFM it will use. For hobby use I'm going to say your compressor should output at least half of the CFM of the gun. You can always buy an extra tank, like for filling tires, to give you a bit extra gun time before you need to let the compresser catch up.
