Is there a good reason to go with the more expensive HV-85 ESC over the standard Phoenix 80amp ESC? It will be replacing a stock Align 75amp ESC with the standard 6s set up (external Align BEC w/battery). No 3D, still just hovering and getting good with FF on the SIM.

I don't foresee going to higher than a 6s set up (but I have been looking into 7s2p A123 packs, which is the equivelent of a 6s Lipo).

The only reason to go with an 85HV instead of the phoenix 80 would be to future proof it. and by this I mean in the future if you wanted to add cells.

Also, with the PHX80, you will be maxing it out, voltage and amperage wise. The HV85 has twice the voltage capacity, bigger capacitors and a heat sink. It wont break a sweat.

The HV is a MONSTOR compared to the 80. I went down the same road. Get the HV.

We are running the CC80 just fine. You really dont need it. unless you plan on going higher then 6 cell.

The CC 80 is absoutely fine for 6S and probably has less issues than the HV85
