Default XLV electric scale

I am lookin at building an electric xlv scale jet ranger.

Dont really want the fuss of a turbine.

Looking at 12 cell 30.000mAH
or
15 cell 20.000 mAH

Scorpion esc and motors over here are pretty good on availability.

Anyone had experience of lipo conersion and putting extra weight on this bird from the fuselage. How does it alter the headspeed. Can you increase the head speed anymore safely.

Quoted headspeed with that set up is SAFE MAXIMUM, do NOT exceed.

Daryl Sprayberry has been flying his for some time now. Go do a search on his name on RR and you will get some info.. I don't have the info available to me right now.

I made my XLV conversion. It was discussed on RR about a year ago. There were pictures and information where to get the necessary parts. Hazchem88 made a similar conversion that I had done and it seemed to work for him too.

My setup is:

Kontronik PowerJive (Total overkill)
12s2p 4900 mAh Rhino Packs (4x 6s4900mAh Rhino 20C)
Actro 60-275 heli
17t pinion

Flight times about 15 min. (to 3.7Volts)

Accessories:
My pinion is a 17 tooth XL pinion which you can get from MaxiJoker or from other SDP/SI (A 6Z 3M17DF09508). Then you need a belt I use SDP/SI Part Number A 6R 3M109095 or A 6R 3M110095 depending on your setup. The length of the belt needs to be correct. The belts are quite cheap so order a few different lengths to get it right. I use one of the stock pulleys to tighten the belt slightly. I could have prepared the base plate better so I wouldn't need the pulley.

Regards, Patrik
