Thanks. I did a quick bench test by plugging the bug directly into one of the rx inputs. Turned on both the rx and the bug, unplugged the rx battery and voila! it all works perfectly. The servo speed is a little lower than at 7.4V but the bug appears to be really, really cheap insurance. Don't think I'll fly without one from now on!

Hi
I've made those videos, where i show the BUG power 4 servos ( only 3 in use ) I could go on until the BUG is totaly drained, but i guess you got an idea of it anyway : Here is the BUG powering 3 X SavöX sb-2271sg HV BLS digital servo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5f1w...WL3F0Q&index=1 And here with full flying load ( close to same load they have in air ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=327tX...fiK5eQ3eWL3F0Q |

thanks for the video , maybe the newer servos are less current hungry , did the test with mini RJX servos and went well so now I've ordered RJX standard HV servos for my 6HV
the BUG is a nice security , lost BEC power once on my G700 and did fly with the electronics just powered by the BUG

castle creation does not recommend the scorpion guard
This is a quote from someone that works for castle.
Castle bec's are switching bec's which do not like the introduction of secondary power sources. Use is still possible BUT the CC Bec would need to be protected by a diode to keep it from seeing any voltage from the back up guard. Steve Yes - I work for Castle Let's look at this from another perspective. One of the down sides of a switching bec (any of them not just Castle) is when there limit is reached they don't fade like a linear bec they just shut down - temporarly. This would be when the bug would come on introducing power to the switching bec unless a diode is in line. The bug is a great product and I fully see its benifit but unfortunately there are 2 many situations where it and the bec can introduce themselves without the diode so within the next week or so I plan on taking a short alerion extension and place a diode in line on the red wire and post as a bit of instruction so the bug can be used safely. Steve This is the tread on it. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1895107

Re: Scorpion Backup Guard
I have been using my BUG on my stuff with my BEC and haven't had any trouble lil over 50 flights.
Turn on BEC 1st and then the BUG as the direction states. I had moved this from my trex 700 to my rush 750. Be blessed Isaac Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

CC BEC PRO and Scorpion BUG
This thread sort of died a slow death without conclusion on the CC BEC PRO issue. Is the BUG safe to use with the CC BEC or not?
Anyone been using it and experiencing any downside?

However, as stated here and on the RR thread it is possible to add a diode on the BEC Pro output to prevent it from seeing any voltage from the BUG. In that configuration you'd be fine running both.

I have seen on threads from 2012-2013, that some people that were using the Castle Talon 90 with the Scorpion Backup Guard had ESC failures. Are this still a problem?
I have a Goblin 500 with a Castle Talon 90 and a Align T-Rex 700 nitro with a Align 2-in-1 voltage regulator with glow. Will a Scorpion backup guard be a problem in any of these helis? Thank you

I will say that most people I know are not running a backup when powering from a receiver pack, so in the case of your nitro - they would just run it as-is, including myself. But you do need to be very careful to make sure you never run with an empty pack.
