Default very very new to rc helicopters...

hello, I am a quick learner, but I am new to the rc helicopter scene.. I could really use some help getting mine setup. I have a blade 400 3d, I bought a spektrum dx7, and a lemon 6ch receiver.. I know all the linkages (I think that's what you call them) have been upgraded cause its all aluminum not the black plastic I see on the box.. I think ive got it all plugged in proper, I just think I need to calibrate the servos, maybe make some adjustments to the b400. I'm trying to learn the dx7 but my brain hurts right now, so if anyone has a bit of time, maybe spread out over a day or two, to help me get this sucker off the ground, itd be appreciated, thanks.

Not trying to blow you off at all, but visit this website first - it's got all kinds of great information and e-books to get you started. Lots of learning to do with these helis, but worth all the effort:

A computer simulator will payoff tenfold too.

Good luck & welcome to RC Helicopters!

Default need help

okay I went and checked out that site... I learned a bit about rc helis, but I found nothing that will help me with setting up my blade400 with the spectrum dx7... all ive seen for info is mainly how to setup the dsx6i with the b400, which doesn't help me with setting up the dx7 and the b400...
I'm having trouble with a couple things... the gyro is blinking, the front servo doesn't seem to be moving

You could go here and download one of the similar setup files like the one for the 450X and see how that works. One of the heli setups is sure to get you close if not flying. Make sure to check it all out with the blades off before taking to the air. The last thing you want is to find a channel needed reversed that isn't.
That's about as simple as it gets without entering it from the models guide manually.
Click on Download DX7 setups and choose:

Here is a seven year old thread about the DX7 and the 400:

Have you ever flown before?

Not to discourage you, that's the last thing I want. Everyone here wants you to succeed!

But I'm getting the sense you are going a little to fast. With the excitement level you have right now if you fly, you will crash it in less than 30 seconds. Probobly less than 10 seconds.

You definitely need a sim. And you need to know the basics first and how to progress in a way that makes sense. If you take off for your first time and try to do anything other than hover tail in, you will lose the heli 100% for sure.

Rc-heli flight lesson 1...learning the basics (freddycanflyrc.com) (13 min 35 sec)

Just slow down a bit and do things right. I am a fast learner too with scientific and mechanical background. Over 30 years on video games and so on. Lots of skills that made me progress relatively fast in helis. But it still has been a never ending challenge for me up to this point still. But that's why I love it.

But let me tell you it won't happen over night and you have 100's if not 1000's of hours of learning ahead of you if you want to be an "expert". And you are going to break the shit out if shit lol. Get that sim.
