Default Pulley Z60 issue on the shaft.

I have greased the one way bearing plenty but it's so tight on the shaft that to turn it I have to hold the shaft with a tool through one of the holes and grip the pully, surely it is not meant to be this hard?

Should I take a little emery paper to the shaft or is it an issue with the owb?

More than likely an issue with the brass bushings on either end of the pulley rather than the one way bearing itself. Check or signs of brass marks on the shaft as a telltale sign. Try just chamfering the edges of the brass with an Xacto knife and see if it works.

I had this happen, and I resolved it by removing the one way, cleaning all the grit off the secondary shaft and inside the one way, and reinstalling.

The one way is small and I think it gets stuff inside it easily.

It's also possible that the one way was installed backwards. Or you have the Z60 upside down. I know it's a longshot, but just check to be sure.

I would say the brass inserts causing the problem. They could be misaligned.

What's the easiest way to get them out without doing damage?

In the oven then pull out gently with something?

Oven for 15 mins at 130°C will shift most things out of alloy casings - then you're left with the dilemna on how to get them in straight and axial

You could just use a heat gun like I did. Comes right out.

Don't use grease OWB, load it up with triflow instead.

Default Tri-Flow

Actually, you should use Tri-Flow Clear Synthetic Grease...like this...

I wouldn't use that either, that still is still pretty thick, won't allow the teeth to engage and disengage properly.

One way bearings are made to be greased, plus it will last longer than oil.

+1. I use it on all my models. As do some pro pilots in my area. I tend to break a lot of OWB's, and the fatality rate has decreased for me using this stuff. I applied it to my Goblin and it's working great 30 flights in.

Welcome to do whatever you want, I have seen time and time again OWBs fail because the owners used grease. I have been using triflow since I started the hobby, never had to replace a OWB or a sleeve.

Interesting. Dave Dahl swears by ATF for the OWB. https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=387736

I only once used grease on my 700E and had a OWB failure. Removed the grease and used thin OWB lubricant and there were no more problems.
