Default Pulley

Will the pulley rub the side frame when the boom mount is placed inside of the frames? Hard to tell if they are flush or stick out past the boom mount.

Default Metal mount

I do have the Option Hobby metal boom mount installed. It looks like the pulley may be in the area of the design and I would have to cut the frame to make the pulley expand past the frame sides?

The idler pulleys do stick out of the boom mount. Are your frames not carbon fiber? I guess I am not familiar with the metal boom mount

Isn't that the spot in the carbon fiber frame sides where the Outrage logo is cut into the frame? (borrowed a pic from google)

Default Frame

Yes. I have a carbon frame. The aftermarket boom mount was made by a company called Option Hobby. I think they got shutdown by Outrage when they were going out of business. The pulleys look like they would fall into the area of the design and would just require a dremel to cut the design out to free up the space to allow the pulleys to expand past the frames on either side. Not a huge deal!

Here is a link to view pictures of the metal boom mount. Looks like you can still get them but not sure how trustworthy this site is and hard to read and understand let alone if they will ship to the US.

If I am understanding you, I think that you would have to use the plastic boom mount in its entirety to run the belt. I don't think that you want the metal one hacked up!

Got the link, thanks. That metal boom mount sure is pretty! You can't use any of it with the belt.

Correct! I could just use the plastic boom as is. It is just a bolt in swap out. A dremel and 2 minutes work cuts that small design out on either side to allow the pulleys room to move and your done!

Nice work getting the belt stuffed in there! I'm really curious if it's going to rub. Chris make sure you ground that tail to the battery negative. That plastic boom housing is a great insulator

Still flying mine once a week, at best. But it's going to be overhauled & changed from 12S to 6S system to save weight & standardize battery inventory.

Does anyone run on 6S? What size motor & ESC should I run for very mild sport? I also like it nice & low (RPM that is). What lipo size too?

I'm giving some thought at converting mine to 6s as well. I'd expect to use a 120lv or hv esc and 5000 mah packs. 4020 or 4025 1200kv motor makes sense.

Did some research. LV for me, like the HobbyWing 120A V4, & use their BEC. Shave off a bit more weight. Ditto on the lipo. Probably Scorpion 4025 1100kv or Xnova 4025 1120kv motor.
