Tiger 50 resurrected...
This is my latest nitro heli, a Tiger 50 that I acquired through an estate sale that I was helping with. This Tiger was languishing on a shelf, not sure if it ever actually flew as it was not completed and was missing some parts. It has an OS 50 Hyper, which was stuck solid. Upon disassembly, the engine looked brand new inside aside from rusty bearings. Got some bearings from Boca and it's ready to go. Great compression.
With help from JB, I got the parts necessary to complete the Tiger and get it flight worthy. JB sent some upgraded tail rotor grips, and the heli appears to have an upgraded Pantera head on it with the leading edge control. Also put on a Pantera tank since the tank in it was questionable and the Tiger tank is no longer in production. Easy retrofit. Installed a Curtis Youngblood Mini-G gyro that I had (it had a Futaba GY240 gyro on it when I found it) and some Futaba digital servos on the cyclic and tail. Just need to paint the canopy and it's off to the maiden. Thanks to JB for encouraging me to get the Tiger back in the air, he keeps telling me how smoothly a Tiger flies, and for help getting the parts I needed. Mark

Pretty cool. Definitely put up some pics or a video once the canopy is done. I've heard a lot of good things about the Tiger. I was actually thinking of getting a Pantera as a second heli once I get comfortable with my Trex 450s...

I went from the 450 pro to a Pantera. Had some experience on the 450 and just loved how stable the Pantera was over the 450. You can't go wrong getting the P6. If you can fly the 450 around (none 3D) you will be able to handle the P6. Todd

If you find it's lacking power (I suspect it will) , I'd replace that cast aluminum muffler with the pro muffler from JB's site or a Mavrikk one. I had a Tiger, great flying heli, no bad habits.

Here it is, ready for its first flights. Need to dial in the tail-rotor pushrod length first with some rate-mode hovers and then it's time to fly!!!

Scirocco,
I've been flying my Tiger for at least 5 years now. It's the heli I warm up with. I've upgraded it to the MKII and put new Pantera tail grips on it. So its still flybarred. Flies like a dream. Its very smooth and steady. So you should love your Tiger. I also have a Pantera. I put an Outrage flybarless head on it and an IKON controller. It flies like a dream, too. I see no reason to give either of them up as long as I can get parts from John. Tim

Scirocco,
It's a really stable, solid heli. You'll enjoy flying it. And there is tons of help on the internet. John is a great supporter of his helis. Gunner
