Default Logo 400 SE Opinions

hi all...

i would like to get the 400se and would like some advise from you guys if you don't mind..

A) must it use only the 4015-1070 motor with the stock mod0.5 gear or is there a better motor+gear combo for the 400se (3d Flying)

B) will a nano tech 3300mAh batt be too heavy for this bird?

C) ready heli recommend a jive100lv for this heli but can a jive80lv be sufficient enough?

D) what will be the a good headspeed for the 400se for 3d flying?

many thanks for reading and hopefully to hear your thoughts and opinions...Cheers

There are numerous motor/gearing combo's
The 4015-1070 on the standard 0.5 mod main gear is a good performer
(I'm using 4015-1450 on 0.5 mod main gear, 18T pinion, 6S 3000mah battery)

My 6S batteries are around 520grams
Any heavier than that and you will need to push the pack backwards under the pinion
Depending on battery height It may not fit
and in a crash the pinion will kill the battery

I use an Align 60amp ESC (VBar governor) with zero problems (3D flight)

I'm running 2400/2500/2600

Have a look at other Logo 400 configurations here:

i finally got myself a logo400 (used, could not resist the offer kit, spares, hacker motor, cyclic servos for 200usd)...but im gonna upgrade it to the Logo400se...also got myself my very first Vbar from RH (fullsize) which im gonna utilize it on the Logo400se...i have never tried a Vbar so hopefully i will get advise here if i ran into any issues ...

i saw that some are using 72mm tailblades and some are using 86mm tail blades on their logo400se...which will be better for me to use?

for the Vbar sensor, should i use the stock tape or the 3M 4010/4011 would be better?

Many thanks for reading

The mini VBar is a better choice for the Logo400

Hard mount the full size VB sensor
don't use thick/soft double sized tape

I'm using 72mm and have them performing ok
Took a few flights to adjust the settings to make them work nicely
I was considering trying longer tails
but I can't as I'm running a low rider head

I'm using standard size V-bar with my 400 and it works great with the stock mounting tape.

Main V-bar unit goes at the top above the boom and the sensor goes down at the bottom next to the tail servo.

For the LOGO400 , I've been advised by the VBAR developpers on the VBAR forum to use the full size with separate sensor. Placing the sensor below might be better for vibrations. I use full size after the mini and find the full size better flying.
/Good luck

I agree, and as they improve the sensors it is an easy "plug and play" upgrade if you want the new and improved sensor.

Wow, almost exactly the same setup as mine (except I run 100LV and 500mm blades). It should fly very well.

Great setup. I would only suggest that you go with 86mm tail blades to compensate for the longer main ones.

The longer boom not only accomodates the longer blades,
it also gives the tail more leverage (with the standard 72mm tails)

When I maidened my L400SE the tail was pretty messy
I then did a rate mode hover and adjust the length of the tail push rod to get a stable hover
Then went back to lock mode and adjusted the tail gain
Also needed one small adjustment to the tail precomp
It's working well now

Nothing wrong with using longer tail blades however

If you really fly a lot of pyro stuff you might want some 85mm tail blades, but I still fly the old stock 72mm white plastic tail blades on my stretched (500mm main blades) 400 and they give me plenty of tail authority.

I agree with your strategy Mahathyr try the standard tail blades first and then decide.
