Nice piro flips CH. The stick movements were a nice touch.

Thanks. Weather was better today so I re-did the vids with better flying.

Talking about visibility mod, this started off as a worth-some-laugh activity but after a few iterations (the GOBLINg, the Ribblin, and now) "Jasmin" actually turns out pretty good.

Really helps visibility from afar. Keeping it on for longer than I originally expected.

...and then there's "Pistachio". More lightweight solution, 12g vs 40g.

Here's an interesting comparison of the same flight shot with 2 different cameras from different perspective. My cap-cam has a longer zoom which shows more details on the heli and its attitude. But because of the longer zoom, often times the stationary object background is not in frame which means you lose the sense of speed and change of speed of the heli. My friend shot the flight from farther away with wider zoom (mainly to test the higher than full HD resolution). And because of the wider zoom, it's more of a stationary aim which means stationary objects are always in view for easy reference to speed and change of speed. Different perspective but both have the merits for enjoyment.

For curiousity I flew my Revolution 430mm blades with my setup/settings for 470 blades today. That means only 2450rpm HS with 13T. Definitely not punchy or responsive as with 470 blades but flyable, good for practice flying.

First flight filmed on my Protos, nothing too amazing. I need to spend some time on the cyclic it is really mushy feeling and in the wind dolphins. I also need to up my auto bail out spool up rate it's way too slow at the moment.

Protos 500 (4 min 20 sec)

Regarding auto bailout, your problem is with the YGE heli soft-start which is always triggered once it sees zero throttle. I don't know about the Brain but vBar has the "idle" option for auto bailout. When you auto vBar doesn't cut throttle all the way. It'll maintain motor speed at the lowest possible so the YGE won't trigger soft-start when vBar resume throttle. another option is to set auto at 10% throttle or whatever the lowest for the YGE to not trigger soft-start.

I have my esc set to airplaine mode :-) I just have my ramp set way too low in the fbl, my x3 starts back up great at this setting and it was my first go with the protos which will need much more till I'm happy with it.

It's weird that the Brain will even allow setting bailout ramp up speed this slow. Soft-start speed this slow makes sense, but bailout ramp up speed this slow? vBar can't even set bailout ramp up speed just soft-start spoolup speed. I wish vBar sllows adjustable bailout ramp up speed. Pre-set is too fast.

I wish vbar had a separate bailout setting too. But IMO it's too slow. Bailout ramp-up is scaled off the spool-up rate. So to get a faster or slower bailout, you have to adjust the initial spool up rate.

Nick, crank that sucker up. This thing is a belt not a gear/pinion. So you aren't going to melt your main gear

It has a scale from 0-100% for the ramp and default is 25% I'm currently at 34% so I have quite a ways before I'm maxed out. I really should pull the blades off and bench test like a castle but my time is so limited on work nights I just wanted to fly so I did guess and check. Next time I'll just up each bank 10% and find out much quicker.

I don't want to do the death piro like you have seen first hand haha maybe if I tuned at a field like a normal person it would be ok.

Good old Castle! I think Alex starts around 50? And we're running stupid high numbers on the Max. But the drivetrain there is more robust

Just crank up spool up rate for vBar. It's belt not gear/pinion. Here's my spool up rate but my bailout rate (not shown in the vid) is too fast that it'l swing the tail 90-180 degrees.

Sweet flight doublech! I need to work on my funnel transitions as they stink. Love the way this P500 flies, but I'm switching to an iKon on it.

Another geriatric p500 flight today. Wonderful weather for flying and the now iKon equipped heli is flying great.

Nothing special, but I'm excited to get it in the air! Got the maiden flight in today and all seems to be good. Was just hoverin it around for the first pack.

Again, nothing special. Just hovering it around and listening, watching for anything that may be obviously setup wrong. No clue what head speed I'm running, I did a Gov Store with a 4V/cell pack and set a flat throttle curve to 65% for this flight.
Flight starts around 2:45
What you see happen at about 4:10 is an issue with the OrangeRX sat I believe. I'm also running a Spektrum sat so I fully expected this issue to go away. So far the issue is strictly when running at 11ms and with the 3Digi failsafe turned on. The engineers/programmers have already implemented a change that should solve the issue. I need to get the updated firmware.
I will be switching to 22ms to avoid the issue in the mean time.
