tight blade holder??
Hi Guys,
I am building a new X7. It appears to be a great kit, but I am having an issue with the main blade holders. The outer ball bearing assembly ( the one farthest from the main shaft) is an interference fit (approx .002 mm larger than than blade holder). I could probably heat the blade holder and press it in but it seems to me that the bearing needs to be able to move a little in the blade holder so that the pull will always be on the thrust bearing. Thanks Mike, |

Thanks Matt I was concerned that if it was to tight the side load would be on it and not the thrust bearing. I figure a heat gun and a wooden dowel it should go in ok.

Shouldn't be so tight you have to heat it and use a hammer ... lol

Matt while you are monitoring this thread. I have a question, the push rod I got for for tail only has threads on one end! so I guess this means I get a cf tube and make a new push rod??

It isn't carbon fiber, it's hard plastic cured around the metal rod. It's very rigid but flexible and perfect for it's intended use.

Thanks Matt for the help. I am not patient enough to go though all that for a push rod.
I have the CF rod and the ends that go in it to make one. It comes out only a few thousands smaller than the one that come in the kit, and is a much better push rod. On to setting up the electronics. Thanks again for the help. I hope to have thing in the air by the end of the month. Mike, |

Hi Guys,
A few more questions for the group. I am using a Gaui tail servo GS504 what should the timing setup be? The paper that comes with the servo indicates the center is 1.5 but does not show what the frame rate should be. On the standard Gaui motor (500kv) what should I set the timing to? The instructions say 5 degs but I see where Mrmel and some others feel 15deg & 12Khz is the way to go. I am using a CC160HV ESC. Thanks in advance.( I hate it when the magic smoke comes out.) Mike, |

On the castle, timing set to 0 which is low range. PWM of 8 kHz.
The servo is 1520 I believe. Not sure of the frequency, never had to set that. You not using VBar?

Matt the V-Bar ask you to select the timing on the tail servo 250 or 333.
333 is the default so that is what I went with. Mike, |

question for you all, if i use the Scorpion Type: HK 4035-500 motor, the shaft is longer, so that it may go into the pinion support bearing. Will this then set the mesh, meaning, it could not be adjusted once it is in that bearing? using 10T and 100T pinion/gear.
