Default Computer power supply +12v 30amps

HI,
I thought i would share with you a great little power supply that can supply 12v at 30Amps. It also does not need any load to keep it running and will give you a ripple free voltage with over voltage and over current regulation. i have seen these supplies going for $65 or in my case Free !
Here are a few photos of the supply :

Rear view:

compaq model number label.

Shorted Pins required, just 2 !!

voltage and Amperage rating..i think it is impressive.

Once jumpered as shown you can just connect the power and the voltages are ready to use. You could like i have, replace the blue jumper shown with a switch and this will cut all outputs and thus save you switching on and off the mains power, thus reducing the strain on the components etc..

Enjoy..As Bob would say..

Hi, it all depends where you live, a good place to start would be e-bay in your country, and then just google it for a local supplier. I had one guy looking to get his working and when i gave him the solution, he mentioned that thy were available there for around $65 Australian dollers. So sorry i dont have any direct outlet for them but if you look for the model number ESP115 you should get quite a lot of hits, good luck

Cain't beat the price but server power supplies are out there for cheap.

Just picked up one of these 12.7v 74amp supplies for $35. Uses a non standard power plug but I just soldered on a proper one. Accepts 110-240vac, nice.

Fans are a bit noisy because I think the fan speed control input was from the server and without that connection it just runs full speed. Not a problem though, I'm going to make some sort of charging box for my three chargers and the supply.

Lots of this sort of information on Rc groups.

At last!

I got a HP/Compaq ESP-115 power supply and some googling around provided the solution for the pins, but not being an electrician, I'm not too sure where to solder the wires at the back to provide one red and one black cable to feed the charger...

I just stumbled on this thread and I'm glad to see someone already achieved that with this specific power supply.

Would you have any diagram or pictures of how you soldered the wires at the back? From what I understood, the 5th and 6th tabs from the left are 12V and the last four are grounds.

I'm running two power supplies I got on eBay for $16 bucks each They get you on shipping though so it was 56 total for two shipped. I rigged them up in series for 24v and I have reached 14.5 amps on all 4 ports simultaneously on two hyperion 615 duo3. It takes a little modification to the power supplies, but it was well worth it.

Default I make another one...

I just make another ATX Power Supply, this time is smaller and I believe is better construction I can see inside, came with so many futures but is only 10A 200W, but that will be no problem, my iCharger is 10A up to 250W on 13.8V, that mean I can charger only two lipos 3000 6s in series with no problem.......
